AL Central Notes: January 26th
We continue through our trip through the divisions. There is far less drama in the AL Central this year with the Tigers seemingly in control of the divison. Yet, that is why they play the games. All of the stats and forecasts can’t predict the future perfectly and that why this is the greatest game that has ever been invented.

Blue Jays (Once Again) Complete New-Look Bullpen With Francisco Cordero Signing
…and here I was, thinking that Alex Anthopoulos was done revamping the Blue Jays bullpen, after the team added Darren Oliver and Jason Frasor to the mix.
It looks as though the Blue Jays GM has changed gears after it became clear that the price to pay for quality starters (ie. Gio, Latos) was out of the team’s range; if you can’t go for a front-line starter, why...

What's next for Blue Jays?
The overhaul of the Blue Jays’ bullpen seemingly is complete, thanks to two trades with the White Sox and an agreement with an ageless free agent.
Right-hander Sergio Santos will close. Righty Jason Frasor again will play a prominent setup role. Lefty Darren Oliver, 41, will try to produce his fifth straight sub-2.90 ERA.
Now what about the rotation?
The Jays were thwarted...

White Sox Are Stuck In The Middle
The White Sox cleared payroll this weekend, trading Carlos Quentin and Jason Frasor to the Padres and the Blue Jays, respectively. As Eno Sarris predicted a month ago, Chicago didn’t get spectacular returns for either player. But the question still remains — why aren’t the White Sox tearing it all down and starting over? The answer might be because they can’t.

White Sox trade Jason Frasor back to Blue Jays
The staff here at hardballchat gave Kenny Williams the business and rightfully so with the Carlos Quentin trade. Myles Jaye and Daniel Webb go to the White Sox in exchange for Frasor. Frasor rated as an above average...
