Our New White Jerseys are Turrible

The Michigan Hockey twitter account linked out to pictures of the new jerseys today. The blue jersey is basically unchanged. We get a solid block M on the shoulder instead of the hockey-stick M. The M on the shoulders looks really nice. That's a solid looking jersey, even if I'm disappointed they didn't go for a blue version of the whites that they've worn the past...

Dee Karl: The Curious Case of Jeff Tambellini

Oh yeah, it's early June and I am struggling to find things to write while I'm starting to prepare for draft day. Okay, I'm not really preparing for draft day because something in the back of my head says he's trading the pick and then I would do a lot of research for nothing. But... we'll see. But after watching Game 2 of the SCF, something odd struck me...

Manny Malhotra WILL play in game 2… Probably

Manny Malhotra was back on the ice practicing with the Canucks on Friday, doing line rushes with Victor Oreskovich and Jeff Tambellini. He has been cleared to play, so presumably he will play in game 2. We have seen this movie before of course, when Malhotra was cleared to play, but didn’t in game 1. But assuming that Malhotra doesn’t experience a setback between now...

From the NHL: An interview with: COACH VIGNEAULT THE MODERATOR:  Questions. Q.  Alain, Manny in full gear, is that an encouraging sign? Incredible Backchecking By Tambellini

After being a healthy scratch for exactly a month, Jeff Tambellini hit the ice in Game 6 against the Nashville Predators with plenty of built up energy and heart. This is an example of an outstanding backcheck by the speedy workhorse that denied Nashville right winger Martin Erat a breakaway opportunity and goal. Deep into [...]

Are the Canucks Tough Enough? The Myth of the Heavyweight and the Role of the 4th Line

There has been a lot of nonsense spewing from the airwaves of the Team 1040 radio station in the last few days. You see, the Canucks have suffered a few injuries and in turn a few on air radio personalities (and callers) have decided that they need a heavyweight enforcer! I, for one, think it’s a gross overreaction. The Enforcer Myth So much of the argument for having an enforcer...
