Hornets Snag a Victory in Orlando; Kemba Walker with 30

We really needed a win.   I mean, we really, REALLY needed a win.   5 losses were starting to feel like an eternity since our last win. Now granted, beating a team that was 13-23 on the season is not the greatest benchmark for how well we played, but it was a victory, and we se saw some things that were positive. Let me share them with you.   Kemba was on his game last night....

Hornets Win 2 in a Row; Is this the Turning Point?

Hornets fans, our beloved team has now won 2 games in a row.  I didn’t write an article after the victory in Philly because honestly, it was a game that we should have won.  I mean honestly, a team with 24 turnovers in a game should not win.  I feel bad for the Sixers though.  They really are trying.  They did have 12 blocks on the night.  That’s pretty impressive.  I...

The Teal and Purple Lose 7th straight

We can’t just look at stats on this loss. Well, you can, but it doesn’t make the loss appear to be a cut and dry one. The Hornets had a better overall field goal percentage than the Trailblazers (43.6% vs. 42.4%). They also out-assisted the Blazers 29-21. Those are key numbers that can decide victories and losses. On this night, those weren’t the specifics to our loss....

23-Point Lead Wasn’t Enough; Hornets Fall to the Magic

105-100 Let that sink in Hornets fans.  Had I written this last night, it would be filled with a ton of expletives, followed by screaming to have every player and coach’s head on a spike.  I’ve calmed down now.  Sitting on Twitter while watching the game may be bad for my health.  I know it makes me be an unhappy fan, and the biggest result is that I start feeding off of...

Hornets Fall to 4-8 with Loss to the Pacers

A game that ended with a final score of 88-86 makes it sound like the game was quite the barn-burner.  Well, I guess in theory it was a barn-burner in the sense that many Hornets fans are ready to burn their barns over the inconsistency and losses.  I am on Twitter for most every broadcast of the games, and I read what fans say.  I try my best to not go defending like a crazy...

Hornets Fall Short in New York

So, do we blame the second loss in a row on being tired, lack of chemistry, poor shooting, a 5-second call that wasn’t 5 seconds… I can say we lost 93-96 to the Knicks.  Why?  Well, that was the score.  What did we do wrong?  Does it paint a fair picture of how the team played?  Not really.  Looking quarter by quarter, the teams each played a decent game.  Both teams shot...

Hornets Forgotten Man Ready to Return

This offseason has been full of additions to the Hornets roster, both through the draft and free agency. From the drafting of a hometown boy in P.J. Hairston to the signing of the superstar in the making in Lance Stepenson, the Hornets jerseys will not be the only thing with a new look this year! Lost in shuffle, a piece of this team who may have a big part in its success, has been...

Hornets owner Jordan looking to attract 'superstars' to Charlotte

CHARLOTTE -- It's amazing to think that just two short years ago, the then-Charlotte Bobcats were coming off a season where they had just put together the worst winning percentage in NBA history. Now, the rebranded Charlotte Hornets are fresh off a season with a winning record and a trip to the playoffs, while season ticket sales are far exceeding expectations and are expected to...

Charlotte Hornets with the #9 Pick – What do we Do With It?

For the record, I have stated many, many times before, my only true pro sports passion is the Charlotte Bobcats.  Well, now my only true sports passion has morphed into the teal and purple machine known as the Charlotte Hornets.  I only make mention of this because there haven’t been any articles from Trade Street Post in a while.  Honestly, there’s these NBA playoffs going...

As the Season Comes to a Close, and the Playoffs are on the Horizon…

Gotta love these Bobcats! (Photo Courtesy – Bobcats Brazil Twitter Account) As this Bobcats season began, I had high hopes for the team.  I believed that they could win 41 games.  I really did.  I believed that they could be a .500 win team.  When I attended the Media Day, I bought a Bobcats playoff hat from the 1 time the Bobcats made the playoffs.  While...

Rough Road Trip Ends with LeBron Scoring 61

I fully planned on writing a 2-for-1 recap of the OKC and the Miami game.  Sadly, I just can't bring myself to do it.  I want to mention a few brief observations of what went down, but I also want to point out that the last 2 losses were against the NBA Finals teams from last year.  The best part is that we were competitive.  Follow me... I can't lie.  We lost 3 games...

Career-high 16 assists in last night's victory.  Way to go Kemba! Bobcats Fall to the Bulls at Home

Last night was another of the Charlotte Bobcats’ Buzz City nights.  Muggsy Bogues was on hand as the first 10,000 fans got a bobble-head of him.  While the Bobcats are without Kemba Walker and Jeff Taylor, the matchup of these 2 teams is always one that is very fun to watch.  The introduction of “The Swarm” was apparent as they walked through the crowds outside, chanting...

Bobcats Eek Out a Victory Against Eastern Conference Worst Bucks

(Courtesy Chuck Burton - AP) How about that new Hornets logo for 2014, huh?  I start with that statement because the game was a painful one to watch.  We have seen such great improvements from the Bobcats this season, and some pretty incredible games that I guess I’ve set the bar too high for every game.  Tonight would be one such game as the Bobcats were facing the Eastern...
