Shoulder injury will sideline Sorgi 2-3 weeks
ALBANY - Backup quarterback Jim Sorgi said the MRI he underwent this week showed a tear in the anterior capsule of his throwing shoulder that makes it painful for him to raise his arm. He can throw a football underhanded without issue, he said, but not overhanded.

The Giants' medical staff had concerns about Jim Sorgi's shoulder even before the team signed him. It took an extra day of phone calls between the team's docs and Dr. James Andrews, the noted orthopedist who had also examined Sorgi, for the contract to be offered and signed.
