The Detroit Lions Rise from the Ashes
The Lions fired their president and CEO Matt Millen on September 24th 2008. Millen joined the organization in 2001 to bring change and make Detroit a winning football franchise. He clearly was better suited to do broadcasting then to run a football franchise considering he only produced 31 victories during his tenure with the Lions. Millen brought controversy and problems throughout...

Ducks Cheerleaders, SportsCenter’s Neil Everett Lead Oregon Rose Bowl Pep Rally
Have you ever been to a college football bowl game pep rally? It’s the most proper of propaganda for the institution of higher learning; and football. Everyone should attend at least one in their lives- but not your alma mater. A school you have no connection to will give you proper perspective and objectivity.
Or go to an Oregon Ducks BCS Bowl pep rally, because they have...

Deep Posts: Brandon Pettigrew is sorry
• Detroit Lions tight end Brandon Pettigrew has released a statement apologizing for shoving an official in the Sunday night game. Afterwards, he, Ndamukong Suh, Matthew Stafford, Joey Harrington, Eric Hipple and Herman Moore burned down a bowling alley and overthrew the government of Honduras.
• If it looks like Jeff Garcia and smells like Jeff Garcia, it's probably Jeff...

Heisman Hype: Gotta Love It!
I'm all for a good Heisman campaign—whether is happens in the preseason or just weeks before the voting.
Who could forget Eric Berry's rap videos, Byron Leftwich's bobblehead or Joey Harrington's huge billboard in New York City?
Well, this doesn't quite live up to those crazy standards, but the folks at Oklahoma State aren't about to let a 10-0 start and...

Stafford looks like Ty Detmer
People are joking that Matthew Stafford has turned into Joey Harrington. He is even being called Joey Stafford.
I will take it a step further. He is now Ty Detmer. Do you remember who he is? That was the guy who threw seven interceptions in 2001 and could not figure out why it

GO DUCKS!• Patrick Malee calls it a sesaon-defining stretch of games as Oregon faces the Dawgs, Stanford, USC and little brother. With both James and Thomas presumably near full capacity after missing time with injuries, a top ranked Oregon offense (526.9 total yards per game) should be ready to match Washington point for point. Against a Husky defense that ranks 102nd in the nation...

Joey Harrington Hit by SUV!
Joey Harrington was hit by an SUV while riding his bike Sunday evening in Portland, Oregon. He suffered a broken collarbone and punctured lung as a result of the crash, but was released from the hospital late last night.
It was reported by his dad that Joey was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, preventing further injury or worse. This is a great PSA for helmet...

Bret Bielema Is A Choke Artist
If I hear one more person tell me how good head coach Bret Bielema is…I will lose my mind. Maybe I already have, because now it’s just comical. Time after time, year after year the Badgers head coach seems to make the wrong call at the wrong time in Wisconsin’s season. Since the departure of Barry Alvarez, his predecessor Bielema has squandered every opportunity...

Funny or Die presents: Millenball
Sometimes a man's passion and innovative new approach is so inspiring that his tale must be told on the big screen.
And sometimes, there's another man who so thoroughly and laughably wrecked a franchise that his tale must be told in a parody of the critically-acclaimed movie about the first man.

Indiana Pacers New Sideline Reporter: Recently Widowed Brooke Olzendam
You have a new reason to watch the Indiana Pacers now (if we actually have a season). That reason is Brooke Olzendam. Earlier today, the Pacers announced the hiring of Olzendam as the new television host and sideline reporter for game broadcasts.
According to Indy Corn Rows (man the glaring grammatical error in the banner headline):
Olzendam takes over the role formerly held by fan...

You have wonder why players like Matt Moore, Joey Harrington, AJ Feeley, and Gus Frerotte were continually given opportunity to be a starter in the NFL. Each one of them was named opening day starter at one point during their careers, other times taking over midseason. With the exception of Harrington, they all earned their shots, with successful relief perforamces after the starting...

The Lions’ trademark honolulu blue and silver are gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated for the first time since Joey Harrington (!?) was featured on the cover in November 2002....

Detroit Lions: Fact or Fiction
Although the season remains in its infancy, the past two weeks have revealed much about the 2011 Detroit Lions, and where they are headed. Fiction: These are the same old LionsThese Lions are different. They are unique. Just days before I was born, the Lions opened their 1981 campaign with a win over the San Francisco 49ers. That January, Kowalski covered the Niners' Super Bowl victory at the Pontiac Silverdome.
