Thanks to WTAE's Sally Wiggin for this, via Sean. Sally says:
Could not resist tweeting this oh-so-cute pony pic! Meet Miss Quidditch just adopted from a herd at Penn Veterinary
Sally Wiggin and mini ponies are two of the greatest things in Pittsburgh history, the latter being introduced by yours truly and Joey Porter's killer dogs. The former being an absolute...

Today the Pittsburgh Steelers named former defensive LB, and 4x Pro Bowler, Joey Porter to their coaching staff. Porter was a key part of the defense that lead the Steelers to their 6th Lombardi in Super Bowl XL in the 2008 season. Porter is considered to be one of the toughest and grittiest players on the defensive side of the ball.
Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert is making his media rounds this week prior to leaving for scouting combine and on Thursday he was interviewed on DVE Radio. During the interview, Colbert was asked to comment again on former linebacker Joey Porter being hired this past week as a defensive assistant and his response was interesting.
"Having known Joey when he...
Season 4, Episode 78 of The Terrible Podcast is up and co-host David Todd and I start things off by talking about former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Joey Porter being added to the coaching staff as a defensive assistant and how that move might help improve the play and production of Jarvis Jones as well as helping the locker room from a leadership standpoint.
General manager Kevin...
Wednesday is that time of week where I get to answer questions from all over Steeler Nation.
What’s in store this week? Let’s find out:
Glad to see Joey Porter back in the ‘burgh. What kind of impact do you see him having?
—Jorge in Pittsburgh
Thanks for the question Jorge. I love the pick up too. A writer on cover32/pit wrote a great article Tuesday about Porter’s return...
Earlier in the week, cover32 released it’s list of Top 10 running backs coming out of the draft this year.
Today they just released a list of the Top 10 free agent running backs.
No Steelers made the list, but is there anyone who would look dapper wearing the black and gold?
For me, I wouldn’t mind seeing former Minnesota Viking Toby Gerhart or former Patriot LeGarrett Blount...
I’m just as excited as everyone else is that former Steelers’ linebacker Joey Porter is back with the organization but let’s slow down a bit.
He has been hired to be a defensive assistant and his immediate responsibilities have not been made fully clear yet, but I think we can assume he’ll be working with the linebackers.
I saw a lot of comments yesterday about the fact that...
Joey Porter left the Colorado State University football team to join the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Only this time he’s doing it as a coach.
Porter was named a defensive assistant coach, the team announced Tuesday.
Pittsburgh picked Porter with the 73rd overall selection in the 1999 NFL Draft from CSU.
He didn’t start playing defense until his junior year.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers star linebacker Joe Porter has been hired by the team as a defensive assistant coach, per Bob Labriola of Steelers Digest. In 13 NFL seasons with the Steelers (1999-2006), Dolphins (2007-09) and Cardinals (2010-11), Porter recorded a whopping 595 tackles with 98.0 sacks, 22 forced fumbles and 12 interceptions. Joey Porter hired by @Steelers as a defensive...
The addition of former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Joey Porter to the coaching staff on Tuesday certainly came out of the blue and if the mere reason he was hired is to help get the most out of outside linebacker Jarvis Jones, I applaud it.
Jones, who the Steelers selected in the first-round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Georgia, had a pretty uneventful rookie season in Pittsburgh...
Ever since Peezy left the game, the game went soft. Coincidence? I think not. There’s been an overall pussification in the NFL over the last few years and it’s time to unpussify this *****. Now that the Seahawks just won a Super Bowl by beating that ass and talkin’ loud, the copycats in the copycat league are hard at work trying to bring a mean streak back to they defense....
Former All-Pro linebacker Joey Porter has rejoined the Pittsburgh Steelers as a defensive assistant coach.
Porter joined the Steelers staff after receiving his first coaching experience at his alma mater last season as a student assistant on Colorado State coach Jim McElwain's staff while taking classes to complete his degree.
Porter worked with the Rams' pass rushers,...

The Steelers cut him in 2007 but it’s good to see him return “home.”

Anybody who follows the Pittsburgh Steelers with any degree of depth is well aware of the fact that they have had salary cap issues for several seasons now, which is generally the territory every team with a franchise quarterback will eventually face.
This is not necessarily a major obstacle for a team disciplined upon the notion of growing a team from within, primarily...

Do you remember Jack Lambert throwing Cliff Harris to the ground in Super Bowl X after Harris started taunting kicker Roy Gerela?

You would think there would be a statute of limitation on something like this. It wasn’t murder, it was a speeding ticket.
Back when Joey Porter was in college in 1999, he was arrested for speeding and driving with a suspended license. He missed his last court appearance and the warrant was issued.
Porter played with Steelers, Dolphins and Cardinals in the NFL, so he never was...
In 2006, Sports Illustrated dubbed him the most dangerous man in the NFL. When his career began to slow down, Colorado State fans across the nation began to dream about Joey Porter returning to the place where it all began.
As the team begins prepping for the 2013 season, those dreams are finally becoming a reality. Jim McElwain confirmed the rumors last Wednesday when he tweeted...
