NC State defeats Xavier 74-59 in the First Four

ACC: 1, A10: 0…suck on that Shaka Smart. Kidding of course. This has nothing to do with ACC pride or a non-controversial pissing contest between the VCU head coach and Duke’s Coach K. This is about winning a championship. This is about North Carolina State being one game closer to achieving that. The Wolfpack played their best game of the year (good time for it). In fact, the...

Wolfpack survive late threat by Orange

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- When NC State (21-12) finally got some breaks it had been eagerly anticipating all season to knock off No. 11 Syracuse (27-5), it wasn't going to apologize.  Particularly not if that good fortune helps get the Wolfpack to the NCAA Tournament.  After NC State emerged on the right side of a 66-63 win -- in spite of letting Syracuse attempt six straight shots in...

Open Thread: ACC Action At Last

Slogged our way through the non-con and all it’s patsies — which wasn’t nearly as bad as all the complaining about the patsies. Now we have our first conference game. Down in Raleigh, NC against North Carolina State in PNC Park Arena.  It’s a nooner. Unfortunately this is not a national game, and if you don’t live in the Pittsburgh area, finding the game is a little tricky...

Warren's career-high 32 leads NC State over ECU

RALEIGH, N.C -- There's no doubt that all NC State head coach Mark Gottfried had to do to get his team's attention with East Carolina coming to town on Saturday would be to show them the tape of ECU's game against Duke.  But there's a reason ECU played well against Duke. The Pirates (10-3) are pretty good, and certainly well-coached under Jeff Lebo.  It showed early...

Warren powers 'Pack to home rout of N'western

RALEIGH, N.C. T.J. Warren will to have to carry the scoring load for North Carolina State to be competitive this season. Fortunately for the Wolfpack, Warren is an elite scorer. Unfortunately, though, hes gotten off to some slow starts in the last few games; and at times, his team has struggled early as a result. Even after posting a pair of 30-point efforts in his last two games...
