The surprise team on De La Rosa
The Rockies had surprising competition from a National League West rival in their quest to re-sign free-agent left-hander Jorge De La Rosa.
The Padres never actually made De La Rosa an offer but showed serious interest in the pitcher, major league sources said.
De La Rosa, 29, would have joined righty Mat Latos and lefty Clayton Richard in the Padres’ rotation, giving the...

Rockies Sign De La Rosa
The Rockies and Jorge De La Rosa have agreed to a one year deal worth 2 million dollars, avoiding arbitration. De La Rosa went 10-8 with a 4.92 ERA in 130 innings for the Rockies last season. He has the potential, if he can command his pitches better, to be a solid back-end of the rotation starter. This story was approved by MLB Rumors.

De La Rosa close with Rockies
For a while, Jorge De La Rosa seemed likely to wait on fellow free-agent lefty Cliff Lee, delaying his decision until the losers of the Lee sweepstakes could bid along with other clubs.
As it turns out, De La Rosa will act sooner rather than later.
The Rockies are close to re-signing De La Rosa to a three-year contract worth between $32 million and $33 million, according to...

It’s all part of a plan the Rockies drew up in September and has slowly unfolded this offseason...

Clayton Kershaw: Baseball’s Most (Economically) Valuable Commodity

4/10 - The Good, the Bad, the Ugly
Cole Hamels made his season debut against the
Rockies yesterday, and did what every Phillies starter has done this

the Phillies offense was unable to figure out Rockies starter Jason Marquis, as the Rockies topped the Phillies 10-3.
The Good:
