Cleveland Indians sign Josh Phelps to Minor League deal
According to the Cleveland Indians official Twitter page, the team has signed Josh Phelps to a Minor League deal. Phelps will report to Triple-A Columbus.
Phelps, 32, last played in the Major Leagues with St. Louis in 2008. He is a career .273/.343/.472 hitter. Phelps has played first base, catcher and both corner outfield positions in his career.

Yanks Could Shea Hey to Hillenbrand
Theoretically, Hillenbrand would be an upgrade over the Miguel Cairo/ Josh Phelps experiment, however the 31-year-old veteran has seen his playing time decrease in Anaheim this season with the emergence of the Angels' Casey Kotchman.
