Four receptions for 42 yards. Seems like a pretty solid game for a tight end doesn’t it? The only problem is that those numbers were the combined production from all of Florida’s tight ends for the entire 2013 season.
Four receptions for 42 yards. Just let that sink in for a minute.
The problem for the Gators was that they relied on former defensive ends Tevin Westbrook and Clay...
After two seasons at Florida, sophomore tight end Kent Taylor decided it was time to move on from The Swamp. The former four-star prospect and #1 tight end in the class of 2012 announced yesterday he plans to transfer to Kansas, where he will reunite with former Gators offensive coordinator Charlie Weis.
Florida coach Will Muschamp seems to be cleaning house after the program's first losing season since 1979.
Muschamp announced Thursday that six offensive players have decided to transfer. The list includes freshman quarterback Max Staver and three offensive linemen.
Staver, tight end Kent Taylor, fullback Rhaheim Ledbetter and offensive linemen Quinteze Williams, Trevon Young...

Despite the Florida Gators finishing the 2013 season with a paltry 4-8 record, Florida AD Jeremy Foley continues to support head coach Will Muschamp. Foley is confident in Muschamp and his ability to return the team to prominence and overcome the rash of injuries and a seven game losing streak. However, not all of the Gators are buying into Muschamp’s system. Five players just...
Florida announced on Thursday that fullback Rhaheim Ledbetter, tight end Kent Taylor, offensive lineman Quinteze Williams and offensive lineman Trevon Young will transfer from the school. Offensive lineman Ian Silberman, who just completed his redshirt junior season, will graduate on Saturday and play his final season at another school.
Following Ohio State’s loss to Michigan State in the Big Ten Championship game, some former Florida players that Urban Meyer coached took to Twitter to celebrate the loss.

Florida tight end Kent Taylor has heard Will Muschamp’s message this offseason. The Florida head coach used any opportunity he could to talk about the question marks at tight end. It’s the only position Muschamp feels like won’t improve on the offense this fall. Taylor has added 20 pounds in the offseason, and now up to 240 pounds, the sophomore thinks he can win the job.
The Gators currently have eight commits in their 2014 class and could be getting closer to adding a ninth player after news came out earlier this week that four-star prospect J.C. Jackson (Immokalee, Fla./Immokalee) has decommitted from arch-rival Florida State.
Jackson, an athlete who can play both cornerback and wide receiver, initially committed to FSU in March 2012.
As a junior...
The Florida Gators will play a number of true freshmen during the 2012 football season and that trend will start during Saturday’s opener against Bowling Green. It’s not surprising* as it’s become quite the frequent occurrence not only at Florida, but around the nation.
Among those expected to contribute and even see time in the first game are running back Matt Jones, wide...
Florida Gators freshman tight end Colin Thompson will miss at least two months after having a second surgery to repair a fractured bone in his right foot. The time missed may lead to a redshirt season for the incoming TE. Missing that much time early in your first season puts you behind the learning curve and Thompson will miss plenty of practice experience during those two months...
