Dallas Cowboys Should Switch to 4-3 Defense
The Dallas Cowboys may just have to make a change. This team hasn’t been able to get the job done on defense for the past two seasons and why should anyone believe Cowboys owner Jerry Jones will actually bring in quality help this time? He might bring in some “new faces” like he always says, but the Cowboys just need to face the facts and switch to a 4-3 defense. When you think...

Cowboys Unlikely To Retain LB's Anthony Spencer, Kenyon Coleman
Cowboys observers expect the strong side of the defense to look different next season. That means the team is likely to replace DRE Kenyon Coleman and allow LOLB Anthony Spencer to test the free-agent market. Coleman was a placeholder, nothing more. Although he's a strong run defender, Spencer simply hasn't developed as a pass rusher the way the team had hoped. He could return, but...

Cowboys have chances to recover in NFC East
IRVING, Texas (AP) -- There will be plenty of chances for the Dallas Cowboys to recover in the NFC East.
Forget about how bad that last game was and their losing record.
The Cowboys (3-4) are just now reaching the midpoint of their schedule at home against Seattle. They are in a three-way scrum for second place in the NFC East with Washington and Philadelphia, the team that just...

Vick downplays Ryan’s all-hype comments
While the Eagles grabbed headlines with their marquee additions in free agency this summer, the Cowboys methodically re-signed their open-market playes and added blue-collar types like safety Abe Elam and defensive end Kenyon Coleman. The contrast between the franchises prompted Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan to take a shot at the Eagles during training camp.

A look at the Patriots four turnovers in the win over Dallas… and links!
The Patriots may have won yesterday, but players were even a little surprised they did it while losing four turnovers. It’s uncharacteristic for this team, especially with QB Tom Brady throwing two picks.
But how did they happen? Let’s review…
The first turnover: Late in the first quarter, Brady dropped back to pass on a slow-developing play, spotting WR Deion...

Patriots’ Explosive Offense is Nothing New for Cowboys’ Defensive Coordinator, Rob Ryan
The New England Patriots have scored 30 or more points in 13 consecutive, regular season games, dating back to last November.
In fact, the last team to hold Tom Brady and Company to fewer than 30 points is the Cleveland Browns.
So, what does that have to do with the Dallas Cowboys?
Dallas’ new defensive coordinator, Rob Ryan, was the DC of the Browns at the time. Behind...

Cowboys Defense Bringing "The Kitchen Sink" Against Pats
The last time a Rob Ryan-led defense faced the New England Patriots, the Pats’ offense was uncharacteristically frustrated. As the defensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns a year ago, Ryan orchestrated a game plan that allowed New England just 283 total yards, and went a long way in helping Cleveland to an unlikely 34-14 win in week nine.
This marks the last time that...

Cowboys ready to throw ‘kitchen sink’ at Brady
Rob Ryan knows how to stop Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
The Cowboys defensive coordinator was calling the shots for the Cleveland Browns last season when they came off their bye week and toppled the mighty Patriots 30-14 in Week 9 for one of the NFL’s biggest upsets last season.
That loss marked the last time the Patriots have scored less than 30 points in a regular...

New Cowboys DC Ryan relishes another game vs. Pats
New Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan has a blueprint that has worked to defeat Tom Brady and the Patriots.
The game plan Ryan used 11 months ago in Cleveland might pale in comparison to what he might try to do with Dallas.
Defensive end Kenyon Coleman, with the Browns then and now in Dallas, says the Cowboys are already doing so much more in Ryan's system than he ever...

Redskins bracing for Cowboys’ aggressive defensive front
The Washington Redskins’ offensive line has been tested in their first two games of the season, but neither the Giants nor the Cardinals are quite on the level of the Dallas Cowboys’ defensive front, which Washington will face Monday night.
Outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware draws the most attention, and rightfully so as he has ranked among the league’s elite pass-rushers during...

EAST RUTHERFORD: The youth movement continues for the Dallas Cowboys.
Second-year player Sean Lee will start opposite Bradie James at inside linebacker in Rob Ryan’s 3-4 scheme instead of 36-year-old Keith Brooking.
Brooking said recently that he didn’t care if he started or not because he expects the snaps to be about even after it’s all said and done.

Olshansky Not Worried About Starting Job
On both the offensive and defensive lines this preseason, the Dallas Cowboys haven’t been shy in experimenting with new looks. The O-line has been a veritable game of musical chairs; the D-line has been a little more static, but isn’t without some potentially interesting changes. One of these may be Kenyon Coleman, who has taken over for Igor Olshansky as the starting...
