Calero won't be forced to Buffalo
Kiko Calero showed me enough that I want to keep him around, it was the right move for him to not make the team but still I would attribute his struggles to rust. Once he's in shape, if he sticks around I would bet he becomes a main cog in the bullpen.Calero should be kept in PSL in extended spring training and once his arm strength is there he should be brought north. For some...

Calero can earn 850k if he makes the team and an additional 650k through incentives. This is a great signing by the Mets because it adds depth to the reliever pool without any true risk, Calero doesn't cost them a roster spot nor was the contract very big.Despite a 1.67...

Calero still only getting minor offers
Kiko Calero has been a pretty good reliever when healthy but he’s also had a nice run of injuries in his big league career which has led to teams holding off on offering him any guaranteed money this winter.

Did the Mets make mistakes with the latest cuts...
After tonight's game the Mets reportedly cut six players; Calero, Parnell, Carter, Dessens, Figueroa, Adams.I have to say, I absolutely hate that Chris Carter hit .393 and didn't make the team, while Fernando Tatis in making the team hit .163. What were my concerns with re-signing Tatis; his defense and offense would diminish, while injuries would increase. Well his knee...

Why Hasn’t Kiko Calero Signed Yet?
Take a look around the league and you’ll see few, if any, bullpens that couldn’t use another arm. We’ve come to recognize relievers as the most volatile entities in baseball. Because they pitch so few innings it becomes difficult to gauge their true talent level, and so we see production fluctuate from one year to [...]
Could Calero set-up
Of all the areas that the Mets need to address, the most stable is the pen, if the Mets are confident that one of Bobby Parnell, Brain Stokes and Sean Green can step up to be the set-up man, then they may only need a left handed specialist. However, if they look outside of the organization for a set-up man a player they've been interested in before who has served as a set-up man...

Non Roster Invitee: Kiko Calero – Mets
It feels almost silly to have to mention that Kiko Calero is a non roster invitee considering he appeared in 67 games for the Florida Marlins and had a 1.95 ERA.
It’s not that those numbers were believed to be a fluke it’s just most teams (for unknown reasons to me) were scared off of the idea of signing Calero over concerns about the health of his arm.
Calero as a non...

The Los Angeles Dodgers release Kiko Calero
The Dodgers have released 35-year old righty reliever Kiko Calero from his minor league contract. Calero pitched in 15 games (0 starts) in AAA-ball for the Dodgers and he was 0-0 with 1 save, a 3.00 ERA and a 1.47 WHIP. I was kind of surprised by Calero’s release as he was pitching well in a very tough league (PCL) in the minors. I think the Dodgers should have given him...
