Ex-NBA star Latrell Sprewell has some horrible life advice for you

Latrell Sprewell was a four-time all star who played 13 NBA seasons for the Warriors, Knicks and Timberwolves, but most fans will remember him for one thing and one thing only: Choking his head coach at practice.Sprewell committed the crime while playing for Golden State in 1997, choking then-head coach P.J. Carlesimo, and returning to the practice court 20 minutes later to try to...

10 of the most infamous NBA coach-player feuds

One of the unique things about the sport of basketball is how closely players and their head coaches work together. Sometimes the proximity of that relationship forges a bond between a player and coach that can last a lifetime and enrich the lives of both individuals. Other times, it goes completely haywire, such as reports that LeBron James had a large hand in the ouster of David...

NBA 2K16 will add 2003-04 Timberwolves as historic team

The Timberwolves don't have many great teams in their history, which is part of what makes their 2003-04 Western Conference Finals run all the more special. Now, it's NBA 2K's turn to acknowledge that. Apparently, the game has done exactly that:The 03-04 Wolves won 58 games, most in the West, and ran through the Nuggets and Kings only to fall to the Lakers in six games during the...

'Django Unchained' and the black professional athlete

The most insightful scene about sports and race in an American film is found in something that’s not technically a sports movie. Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, Django Unchained is a film about slavery disguised as a spaghetti western. When we come across the scene in question, Django is a former slave in the Antebellum South looking for his wife. It’s a little over...

In the NBA playoffs, No. 8 seeds always have a chance

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) The Golden State Warriors know all about playoff upsets. After all, the franchise pulled off one of the biggest stunners in NBA history just eight years ago. This time, they'll be trying to avoid suffering the same fate they once handed out. The Warriors enter the playoffs as the NBA's top seed after winning a franchise-record 67 games. Lone Wolf. Why I hate KG's return to Minnesota

I've always considered Kevin Garnett's career to be bordering tragic. He's the greatest team player I've ever seen play the game, and dare I say probably the best I'll ever see. Gifted with incredible length and athleticism and fueled by fire (and I've always assumed the sounds of DMX looping internally) Garnett was everything you could ask for. A game changing defensive force, seemingly...

Wing Specials: James Harden, The King Wing

So when I approached JB about returning to the Razzball fold, my first suggestion was to do something on wing players. As any veteran fantasy hoops junkie knows, the dudes with the SG/SF designation are superly dooperly useful. Most teams have multiple non-PG and non-PF slots, plus you have the UTIL slots. Old-timers have some fond memories of crazy Latrell Sprewell, a member of...

That time Latrell Sprewell threatened to kick my ass if I didn’t delete a photo of him

Those who know me will know that this is my final week living in Milwaukee, which is a very sad thing. Apparently Milwaukee native Latrell Sprewell won’t be as sad as others to see me go. On Monday night I was out at the bar Rogue’s with several friends when I spotted Sprewell and his trademark dreadlocks hanging out across the way from me. Being the sports journalist I am...
