San Diego's defense is bracing for an overhaul. It could start on the defensive line, where seven-year veteran Luis Castillo (due $4.9 million in 2012) is likely to be released. That will create a need up front; and the Chargers got an up-close look at a potential replacement at last week's Senior Bowl.

One of the questions being asked about the Mets right now is whether manager Jerry Manuel should move second baseman Luis Castillo back to the number two hole in the order. Castillo set-up to fail
I was reading Matt at Metsblog's post on Luis Castillo's slow start to the season and I have to wonder if Louie has been set-up for failure. I posted about a week before the season that I thought it was a mistake to hit Murphy 2nd and Louie 8th. Murphy is doing well in the two hole which I expected to happen but he could also hit anywhere else in the line-up and be productive...

Jim Baumbach of Newsday sat down with Luis Castillo and has a great article on the veteran second baseman's struggles last year and what to expect this year. With the Twins Castillo hit second but they also put two lead-off caliber players at the...
