Yes, I know we’ve done these before, but there’s a reason for doing it again. The roster has changed a bit. Chad Gaudin and Luis Vizcaino are no longer Cubs. Jeff Samardzija is up with the team now and there will naturally be an increase innings for Guzman and Patton...

Luis Vizcaino - Trade Bait, Set-up Guy, or ROOGY?
While Colorado and the Cubs wait for Luis Vizcaino and Jason Marquis to pass their physicals, I'm going to look more at Vizcaino and, in particular, his struggles in 2008. The issue in 2008 seemed to be the lefty/righty splits. Since the small samples for a relief pitcher get tiny...

Wuertz ranks 12th in FIP (2.62) among all relievers with 30 or more innings pitched. He has a 4.4 K/BB ratio, which would be the best on the Cubs by quite a bit. It’s actually embarrassing to say who leads the Cubs relievers in K/BB ratio. Luis Vizcaino at 3 and he was gone...
