Georgia’s worst defensive coordinator in the last 15 years
… isn’t Willie Martinez. Not even close.
I was looking over Georgia’s defense of 1999 and checkout these standouts:
Orantes Grant, Tyrone Robertson, Jamie Henderson, Kendrell Bell, Marcus Stroud, Demetric Evans, Richard Seymour, Tim Wansley, Terreal Bierria, Josh Mallard, Charles Grant, Will Witherspoon, and Boss Bailey – all major contributors that season and all would...

Interview With Former Jacksonville Jaguars Defensive Tackle Marcus Stroud
I’d like to thank EAG Sports Management for allowing me to interview Former Bills, Jaguars and Patriots defensive tackle Marcus Stroud. Stroud, 33, is a former first round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars and three time All-Pro, Pro Bowl selection. Stroud has played for the Jacksonville Jaguars (01-07), Buffalo Bills (08-10) and the New England Patriots (2011).

New England Patriots Defensive Line Gets One More Upgrade By Adding Shaun Ellis
After releasing Ty Warren and Marcus Stroud many New England Patriots fans wondered who would start at the 3-4 left end position across from nose tackle Vince Wilfork and 3-4 right end Albert Haynesworth. Haynesworth was obtained by trade with the Washington Redskins. The New England Patriots managed to obtain 3-4 left end Shaun Ellis who managed to stuff the run and pass rush...

Patriots list Warren, Crumpler as having failed physicals
Before I race down to practice to see Big No. 92, Albert Haynesworth, on the field, a few housekeeping items. Sure, it’s minutiae, but at least it provides an explanation on those cuts yesterday.
The Patriots reported to the league that DL Ty Warren, DL Marcus Stroud, TE Alge Crumpler, OLB Tully Banta-Cain, CB Tony Carter, and OL Nick Kaczur all failed physicals.
Now, none of this...

Patriots Release Key Players, May Be Shifting Defenses
It seems as though the minute I step away from the computer, the Patriots pull off a big move. I leave to go to work and they trade for Albert Haynesworth. I go for a run in the neighborhood and they trade for Chad Ochocinco. Today, after camping near the computer all day, I go on a brewery tour in Newport, RI, and the Patriots announce some big releases! Some of the players announced...

Breaking News: Patriots Release Ty Warren Along With Several Other Players
Just a day after the New England Patriots traded for defensive linemen Albert Haynesworth, the Patriots released defensive linemen Ty Warren, according to ESPN Boston.
This is a rather shocking transaction by New England.
Warren was set to return after a year spent on injured reserve but was expected to be an integral part of New England’s defense.
Not only does it...

The New England Patriots have released DT Marcus Stroud
The Patriots have released 32-year old DT/DE Marcus Stroud. Stroud came to training camp with a bum shoulder which led to his release. If he can get healthy, he might get a chance to play with another team but the Patriots won’t miss him. Stroud picked a bad day to be hurt as the Patriots brought in Albert Haynesworth yesterday.

Pats Release DL Marcus Stroud
The Patriots, a few hours after making a deal for Albert Haynesworth, have released defensive lineman Marcus Stroud. The mistake signing cost New England a $150,000 signing bonus.
Stroud reported to training camp with a bum shoulder, likely the same one he had surgery on during the early winter. He never fit New England’s defensive scheme well anyway.

Patriots release DT Marcus Stroud because of his shoulder
The Patriots picked up Albert Haynesworth this morning, a defensive tackle who bolsters their defensive front. Yet yesterday, they saw that unit weakened.
The Patriots have released former free agent pickup Marcus Stroud, the player confirmed to me today. He pinned the reason as being because of his shoulder.
Stroud had told the Herald this offseason that lockout “is kind of helping...

What happened during the Patriots first walk-through at Gillette Stadium?
For the first time since those Boston College lockout workouts (left), the Patriots took the field. It was just a walk-through, but that’s progress based on this offseason.
No, the soon-to-be acquired DT Albert Haynesworth wasn’t here yet, but others were. What went on?
– The Patriots did work slowly, as Bill Belichick said they would. It was a true walk-through, with frequent...

Patriots cut Marcus Stroud
Hours after the New England Patriots worked out a trade for defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, they sent another defensive tackle packing. Ian R. Stroud apparently isn’t completely healthy: Stroud had shoulder surgery in January that…

60 Max Patriots Notebook 07/25/11 - Positional Breakdown: Defensive Line
Wilfork / Warren / Stroud / Pryor / Brace / Wright / Love / Deaderick – If only Ty Warren could stay healthy. A line of the three big W's would have been dominant. We could have had a cool law firm name like Warren, Wilfork and Warren, while having one of the biggest and stoutest 3 man line in the NFL.

Future Stars Of The Patriots?
Editor’s note: We’d like to welcome Justin Buzzotta to the site. This is his first post.
Could it be? An ending to what seemed like the longest off-season in pro sports history. As the lockout nears its end, fans can finally be optimistic there will be football in 2011. No longer will we be huddling by our TV’s hoping to get a view of Roger Goodell walking out of the courtroom...

Marcus Stroud stands out in a crowd. Even in a big crowd like the Texas state championship 7v7 tournament, Marcus is still a head turner. Stroud is one of several talented players leading the charge towards a title for Prosper High.

Top Ten All-Time Jaguars: #8 John Henderson
It seems unfair that the number 8 entry in this top ten list isn’t any higher, but with the amount of talent on this list 8th will have to do. This man, well giant, comes to us from Tennessee and is as tough as they come.
While being a force on the field most will probably remember him more for his pregame ritual of being slapped in the face by the trainer. If you haven’t guessed...

3-4 Right End Job
Ty Warren and Marcus Stroud will compete for the starting job at right end in New England’s 3-4 scheme. Both Warren and Stroud are expected to start for the New England Patriots this season, but both players are 3-4 left ends at best and one has to move over to that right end position. Ty Warren can be a pro bowl caliber player when healthy and had success early in his career...

Pats DE Marcus Stroud using lockout time to prep for new team and get shoulder up to speed
Had a little fun with Marcus Stroud yesterday pointing out that he was “it” as in the guy who had to cure the Patriots anemic pass rush. After all, he’s the only guy Pats coach Bill Belichick has brought in thus far that has some semblance of credentials for getting to the quarterback.
”Thanks for putting that pressure on me,” Stroud said with a laugh...

Starting Spot Not Set In Stone For Patriots DE Ty Warren
Despite all the D-line shuffling that went on in 2010, Patriots veteran DE Ty Warren likely will be fighting to regain his starting spot, and possibly to stay on the roster, after missing all of last season with a hip injury.
The 30-year-old is set to make $3.1 million next season, though he did tell the Herald that he was not asked to take a pay cut.
Even so, the Patriots are...
