Western Illinois overwhelmed by Missouri 69-0

To say little went well for Western Illinois on Saturday night would be a massive understatement. Missouri (2-1) set a school record with 744 yards of offense, tied a school record for most points scored and broke an 83-year-old mark for its largest victory margin in a 69-0 drubbing of the Leathernecks (1-2) in one of the most lopsided defeats in the school's history. ''It's not...

Fresh Thread for Texas Series

No news? I guess that's good news. For those who missed last night's game, the Jays predictably beat up Brad Bergesen and Mark Hendrickson for an 8-5 win. Eric Thames and Edwin Encarnacion homered, Yunel Escobar and J.P. Arencibia added a couple of hits each, and Carlos Villanueva survived five shaky innings to earn a negative-WPA Pitcher Win. On the flipside, Jose Bautista...

Baseball. Mark Hendrickson Recalled by Baltimore Orioles

With left-handed pitcher Mark Hendrickson's relief appearance for the Baltimore Orioles, July 9, a former Washington State University Cougar has played in a MLB game for 64-straight seasons.

Callup Coming Soon For O’s SP Tim Bascom?

If you’re a pitcher for one of the Baltimore Orioles’ minor league affiliates, chances are your shot is coming soon.  With 20 pitchers used this season, including 9 different starters, the O’s staff has been a bit of a revolving door.  When you consider that their team ERA sits at 4.72 -good for worst in baseball- this doesn’t come as much of a surprise.  That said, could...

On Thursday I identified a big group of potentially available right-handed relievers.  Today let's check out the left-handed group. Athletics: Brian Fuentes, Craig Breslow, Jerry Blevins.  Blevins, designated for assignment in May, cleared waivers and is enjoying a strong June after a rough start at Triple-A.  Fuentes and Breslow are less likely to be dealt, as they might...
