Column: Little engine that could runs out of steam
(Eds: With AP Photos.) By JIM LITKE AP Sports Columnist The little engine that could finally threw a gear.
The Chicago Bulls might have been the most heartwarming tale going this postseason, but it's over. Unlike the bedtime story, fumes and spare parts get you only so far in the NBA. It was always a matter of when - not if - they'd fall apart.
Go back and take a look at...
Heat defeat Bulls; Take 3-1 series lead
It was one of those nights for Nate Robinson and the Bulls.
Was it the Marquis Teague tip into the wrong basket? Or the nine point third quarter? Or the Norris Cole 3 to end that third quarter? Any of these things could sum up the Bulls’ night, as they very much looked like an undermanned team, getting throttled 88-65 against Miami.
After shooting just 25 percent for the game,...
Bulls guard Marquis Teague puts ball into his own basket (Video)
Chicago Bulls point guard Marquis Teague accidentally put the ball into his own team's basket during Monday night's Game 4 against the Miami Heat.
It happened in the fourth quarter as Teague tried to intercept a pass from Norris Cole to Chris "Birdman" Andersen. Teague did knock the pass away from Andersen, but inadvertently knocked the ball up and right into...
Chicago Bulls Guard Scores Two for the Miami Heat (Whoops!) in Game Four
Things just aren't going well for the Chicago Bulls. Too much attention has been paid to when/if Derrick Rose is going to play, the injury bug has really hit these guys hard, and the Miami Heat now appear to be set to end their season barring a miraculous comeback.
In Game Four they could barely buy a shot making just 19 of 74 (Nate Robinson went 0-12). With shooting woes...
Marquis Teague Tips Pass In Miami’s Basket (Video)
Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals between the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat didn’t go exactly as Chicago may have desired; Nate Robinson went o-of-12, Carlos Boozer went 3-of-14, needless to say Bulls’ shooting was kept to 26% as they watched Miami take a series lead, 3-1. To add insult to injury, Marquis Teague tips [...]The post Marquis Teague Tips Pass In Miami’s...

Bulls' Marquis Teague scores for Heat
If you needed a play to sum up game four for the Chicago Bulls against the Miami Heat, it might be this accidental tip by Bulls guard Marquis Teague. Watch as Teague accidentally deflects a Chris Bosh pass into the Miami basket:
Heat give Bulls a whupping in Game 2
The Heat were pissed off. The Bulls weren't backing down.
The result was a lot of Game 2 chippiness in Miami on Wednesday night in its 115-78 win. Hard fouls. Several altercations. Nine technicals, a flagrant and two ejections. And, in the end, a Heat rout that evened this Eastern Conference semifinal series at a game apiece .
The bad blood was predictable, really, given the...
Sports Illustrated grades 2012 Draft ‘Cats
Sports Illustrated has released their grades for the 2012 draft class. They go through the draft and give each player a letter grade for their rookie seasons. The magazine only grades the 1st round draftees, so 4 out of the 6 former Kentucky players were graded. Doron Lamb and Darius Miller were elected in the 2nd round, and therefore was not graded in this article. Here’s what...
Where’s the STEEZ? Trade Speculation Engaged
To follow up yesterday's post by Abdullah questioning the whereabouts of Jordan Crawford, we've brought on Cory Grubbs (@CoryGrubbs10) of Blog So Hard Sports (@BlogSoHardSport) to share some trade scenarios that could involve Jordan Crawford if the Wizards ever consider moving him. Again, these are speculations derived from our own minds and have no reflection of any official...
Bulls halt Hawks, set team record for fewest points allowed
CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bulls were determined to regain their home-court advantage, and the Atlanta Hawks certainly cooperated. Atlanta set several records for offensive futility Monday in a 97-58 loss at the United Center. A layup by Jeff Teague with 7.9 seconds left prevented the Hawks from breaking their all-time record for fewest points in a game. The mark of 57 has stood...
Bulls 97, Hawks 58
CHICAGO -- Chicago's Carlos Boozer collected his eighth double-double in the past nine games, and the Atlanta Hawks set several records for offensive futility in a 97-58 loss to the Bulls on Monday at the United Center. A layup by Jeff Teague with 7.9 seconds left prevented the Hawks from breaking their all-time mark for fewest points in a game. The mark of 57 has stood since...
Nate Robinson Addresses The Possibility Of Being Waived By Bulls
Veteran Kirk Hinrich and rookie Marquis Teague have contracts that extend beyond the season. If the Bulls retained Robinson, the roster would include four players who primarily play point guard when Rose returns.
“Right now I’m here doing everything they ask, and hopefully that’s good enough,” Robinson said. “If not, then I’ve got to work harder.
Life’s not guaranteed...
Bulls To Waive Nate Robinson?
There’s a fine print element to the point guard rotation that is currently under scrutiny because of rookie Marquis Teague’s solid play when given extended minutes.
It’s called Nate Robinson’s non-guaranteed contract.
The Bulls signed the veteran guard to a deal that doesn’t become fully guaranteed until Jan. 10. That means they can waive Robinson with no penalty any time...
Bulls Could Eventually Waive Robinson, Trade Hamilton With Tax In Mind
The Bulls may waive Nate Robinson and his non-guaranteed contract by Jan. 10 if Marquis Teague continues to play well in his extended minutes.
Bulls' Offense Struggles With Hinrich Back, Teague To Bench
Marquis Teague returned to the Bulls' bench on Monday after two strong games with Kirk Hinrich injured.
Bulls 83, Nets 82
CHICAGO -- Marco Belinelli scored 19 points and hit the go-ahead basket on a driving lay-in with 22.1 seconds left, leading the Chicago Bulls to an 83-82 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday at the United Center. Belinelli got a pick from Joakim Noah at the top of the key and both Brooklyn defenders, Brook Lopez and C.J. Watson, collided. That opened a wide path for Belinelli...
76ers Flop in Crunch Time, Lose 4 of Last 6

The
Philadelphia 76ers could not close out the Chicago Bulls Wednesday night at
home despite 26 points from Jrue Holiday and, surprisingly, outrebounding the
Bulls 44-39. The Bulls dominated the charity stripe (24-26), played solid
defense, and took care of the basketball. Here are a few observations from the
game:

Rondo-to-KG: The mirror-image alley oops that held off Chicago
The Celtics were cold in the 4th quarter. If they weren’t dunking the ball, that ball wasn’t going through the hoop.
Lucky for the Celtics, pulled off two plays that got them the high-percentage shots they needed at crucial times. Actually… it was the same play… just run on opposite sides of the floor.
Here’s the first one:
The play really happens at the :13 mark with...

Marquis Teague Taking Studious Approach In Bulls' Camp
The Bulls drafted a high upside point guard in Marquis Teague late in the first round.
Central Division : NBA Offseason (Draft, trades, and free agency)
Chicago Bulls : NBA Draft Grade B
29) Marquis Teague, PG
The Bulls could have been in the NBA finals but that all change when Derrick Rose torn his ACL. The Bulls really need a backup point guard to Rose. Especially with Rose’s status to begin the season unknown. With their only pick in the draft, that got that point guard in Teague. I was shocked that the third best...

The 6’9 center who averaged 3.9 PPG & 3.7 RPG in 12.6 MPG with the Pacers last season has drawn attention from from several teams who can offer more than the Knicks veteran minimum contract. Chris Tomasson of Fox Sports reports that the Bobcats, who are also interested, can offer $2.5 million. According...
