Random Athlete OfThe Day- Michael Doleac
Michael Doleac was a college star for the University of Utah. He took them to 1998 National Championship Game where they lost to power house Kentucky. His dominance at Utah made him a lottery pick in the ‘98 draft. He fell to the Orlando Magic at the 12 spot.
His rookie year he averaged 6 ppg and was named 2nd All Rookie Team. The next year he averaged his career high 7 ppg with...

Michael Doleac The Science Guy
People forget that when most NBA players retire, they’re only in their mid or early 30s. A lot of players stay in the game and coach, while others get into broadcasting. Since most NBA alumni have made a good amount of change during their tenure in the league, a lot of them get their Magic [...]

Christian Laettner retired from the NBA following a forgettable 49 games during the 2004-05 season when he sat on the Miami Heat bench alongside such big man luminaries as Michael Doleac and Wang Zhizhi. DECADE OF DISASTER
It Was Actually Worse Than You Remember
Will Leitch has composed a list of every player to wear a Knick uniform between the day LeBron, Wade, Bosh and Melo were drafted in 2003 and this week, when 3 of them decided to play together in Miami.
He calls it the Lost Generation. That might be an understatement. Below are some highlights from his list

Five Player Trade Upgrades Heat's Talent, Gives Timberwolves Express Ticket to Draft Lottery
In the wake of an 0-7 preseason and facing the real possibility of not making the playoffs this season, the Miami Heat shipped Antoine Walker, Michael Doleac, Wayne Simien and a conditional first round draft pick to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Ricky Davis and Mark Blount. It is amusing to see this referred to as a "blockbuster" deal--none of the players has been an All-Star in...

Yahoo! Rashard Lewis and the Importance of #2
Continuing in my quest to chronicle role players, I turn to the opposition. Sure, it's hard to argue that a player with two all-star berths and multiple 20 ppg seasons is a "role player," but Rashard Lewis is still a player that is often overlooked. This is partially due to the fact he has never played in a large market, but is also due to his demeanor and style of...

Shavlik Randolph is Feelin' It
Oh yeah, Shav. Shoot those free throws. Your free throw game is looking tyte, bro. You know it too. I see you, pursing your lips trying to act all nonchalant when it's pretty obvious that this is your thing. Free throws, man. Child's play. The haircut, the scraggly armpit hair, the dusting of actual arm hair that makes you look like your glowing? Super fresh. Super....

The realities at center stage
The Portland Trail Blazers needed a center last week. They added Sean Marks.
The Phoenix Suns need a center this week. Earl Barron will be onboard Wednesday night when they play at AmericanAirlines Arena.
The used-center business clearly is flourishing at 601 Biscayne, as we await a Mark Blount comeback and Michael Doleac encore.
Earl Barron rises again, this time with the Suns....
