Michael Komisarek vs Milan Lucic

I just got to watch this game between the Bruins and the Canadians (I was heading to the deer camp and didn't get to see it live) and if this game and fight doesn't fire Bruins fans up you have to be dead. Lucic is animal and he works former Michigan Star Michael Komisarek over. I guess next time Komisarek won't be so quick to challenged Lucic to a fight.

Mike Augello: KOMISAREK'S SEASON ENDING OPENS UP MORE TRADE OPTIONS

The shoulder injury to defenseman Michael Komisarek has been downplayed ever since he was knocked out of the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup on January 2nd. The injury has not healed sufficiently and now requires season-ending surgery. As well as missing the remaining 25 games of the Leafs regular season, the injury will prevent the 28 year-old American from playing in the upcoming Olympics...

Komisarek and Lucic.

You would think after a while that Michael Komisarek would get tired of getting his ass kicked by Milan Lucic. Since Komisarek is done for the season I don't expect him to get a suspension for breaking a stick over Lucic's face.

Leafs and Devils Rumors Make No Sense

For the past two weeks I’ve heard plenty of folks mention that the Toronto Maple Leafs and New Jersey Devils would be a match made in heaven as trading partners. Even in an altered state of mind (you’re high), these rumors make little to no sense. But I guess that’s why pencils have erasers. Actually that doesn’t [...]

No “A” For Kaberle Is The Right Move

It wasn’t major news, but a headline nonetheless. Ron Wilson informed the media on Tuesday that defencemen Mike Komisarek and Francois Beauchemin would be assistant captains this season, leaving Tomas Kaberle letter-less. Kaberle has been an assistant for a few years now, and is the longest serving Maple Leaf on the current roster. But a few questions spring up when you think...

Sean Avery and Toronto: A Match Made In Heaven

Sean Avery and the New York Rangers roll into Toronto for a game against the Maple Leafs. Two or three days before their arrival, people (myself included) are writing pieces about the bad blood that could spill over in the game. They’re discussing Avery and whether or not the Leafs should take him on, or [...]

Burke Letting Leafs Fans Sweat It Out

With only a couple of weeks left on the Tomas Kaberle trade window, it seems like Leafs fans are becoming a little uneasy who will be in blue & white next season. Most people, myself included, choose to forget that Brian Burke will not deal Kaberle unless he receives exactly what he’s looking for in a forward. So, again, we have to re-visit some trade opportunities that...

No Need To Make Assumptions With Tomas Kaberle Anymore

There was a time when all Leafs fans, myself included, decided to throw “when” instead of “if” into the Kaberle trade talks. I’m not sure of the exact date, but either way, we were all in agreement of #15 hitting the road. Though, recently I’ve just decided to let it go: it is what it is. In an article for the National Post, Micheal Traikos said...

Kaberle Clock Winding Down, Beauchemin a Potential Target

The NHL has gone completely cold this past week, and at the same time school took another turn for the crazy again. Result? No MSU post for a few days. But we should all be enjoying the sunshine anyway. On the Kaberle front nothing has moved an inch. With the signing of Brett Lebda last week, Brian Burke made it clear that a defenceman is moving out of town, most likely Kaberle ...

It’s (Probably) Lebda Time, Leafs v. Islanders

They’re the talk of the town. And by town, I mean country. And by country, I mean continent. The blue and white have banked an early eight points by going 4-0-0 to start the season, something even the [...]

As Season Moves Along, Leafs Trade Avenues Open Up

With only 2.4% of the season in the books, I know it’s hard to talk about any roster moves this early in the new campaign. But it’s also tough not to notice some of the lineup imbalances the Leafs are currently showing. Yes it’s like beating a dead horse: there are too many defence in blue & white. In my eyes, it isn’t so much the boil-over of defencemen...

Maple Leafs-Rangers II Could Get Nasty

“On to the next one.” Win or lose, that’s the mantra for the Toronto Maple Leafs right now. As cliché as it sounds, the blue and white have done a good job of taking it one game at a time so far this season. They’re focused on their opponents and are reaping the benefits no [...]

Maple Leafs Will Miss Captain Phaneuf for At Least Four Weeks

From Darren Dreger: “Phaneuf suffered a deep cut last night. Burke says he’s out at least 4 weeks.” See this?… This is me, not panicking. For some reason, I’m not really all that worried about Phaneuf being out for a few weeks. Does it suck? Yeah. But the defence right now should be able to perform well enough to get by for a few weeks...

Komisarek Set To Bounce Back In a Big Way

If you’re ever looking for some Mike Komisarek bashing, you won’t find it here. After tossing Francis Lessard into Pierre McGuire’s grill in Wednesday night’s game against the Senators, it’s probably tough to find any Komisarek haters right now. Though they weren’t too hard to find last season. In what was considered an “off year” for...

Howard Berger: The Goaltending Conundrum

HUNTSVILLE, Ont. (Sep. 30) â?? During a short period of time here in the Muskoka region of central Ontario, we have learned a bit more about the Toronto Maple Leafs. We know, for instance, that defenseman Michael Komisarek is nursing a hamstring pull that could threaten his status for Thursday nightâ??s regular-season opener against the Montreal Canadiens. Weâ??ve been told that...

Mike Augello: ALTERNATES NAMED & CUTS. LEAF BUZZ @ 7:30 WITH EKLUND & JEFF MAREK OF HNIC

Jonas Siegel of 640Toronto reports that the Leafs have named 3 alternate captains, Michael Komisarek, Tomas Kaberle and Francois Beauchemin. Ron Wilson has stated that on November 1, one of these players may be named captain of the Leafs. TSNâ??s Darren Dreger is reporting that the Leafs will be sending Tyler Bozak, Jiri Tlusty and Carl Gunnarsson to the AHL Marlies, but no...

Howard Berger: Burke Must Trade Kaberle

LOS ANGELES (July 23) â?? In his quest to improve the Maple Leafs, Brian Burke has acquired youth and experience over the past four months without yielding either prospects or key personnel. Through free agency, the draft, and one trade, Burke has ostensibly provided the Leafs an eight-for-one exchange: Christian Hanson, Tyler Bozak, Nazem Kadri, Colton Orr, Michael Komisarek, Garnet...

Kaberle still a Leaf! Now the wait for Kovalchuk's decision.

We can all finally stop talking about Tomas Kaberle as his deadline date to be dealt before his NTC kicks in is finally over which means that more trades are probable but we still have to wait for Ilya Kovalchuk's decision before we expect anymore transactions. Teams that were interested in Tomas Kaberle included the San Jose Sharks, Boston Bruins, and Tampa Bay Lightning who...

Mike Augello: KADRI MAKING A CASE FOR STAYING, LEAF BUZZ TONIGHT AT 7:30

At the HSBC Arena last night, in a 3-2 loss to the division rival Buffalo Sabres, there were very few standout performances of players wearing the Blue and White. Goaltender Joey McDonald stood on his head early in the game, stopping 18 first period Buffalo shots. The veteran portion of the defensive corps, Tomas Kaberle, Michael Komisarek and Francois Beauchemin were not in the...
