Thoughts On A Monday
from Elliotte Friedman of CBC, • Sometime before his career is over, Kris Letang is going to win a Norris or two. One of the reasons he’s improved is that he takes things a lot more seriously, but Bylsma adds, “He’s only halfway to where he can be.”
• One opposing coach says Milan Lucic is having a big year because he’s not running around as much. “Look at the hit...

Preview: Vancouver Canucks vs New York Rangers
This is the lone meeting between the teams this season. The Rangers haven't beaten the Canucks since Feb. 2, 2004. Bobby Holik scored twice and Mike Dunham made 27 saves in the 4-3 victory. The Canucks' starting goaltender in that game was Dan Cloutier.

Is it OK to burn a hideous American flag hockey jersey?
Oy, the
stuff you find on eBay: This fashion disaster is billed as a "2002 U.S.
Olympic Hockey Jersey!" despite the fact it looks nothing like this
or this.
We're unsure of its origins save for the fact that it was
created by American Hockey Company, which also designed sweaters early last
decade for teams
like the Topeka Scare Crows of the CHL. (Not sure if their body of work
includes...

Goalies And Their Coaches
from Michael Stainkamp of NHL.com,
Goaltenders have their own coaches and their own rituals. Some are placid, some talkative; others are feisty or combative—sometimes even with their own teammates. A goaltender can steal a game for an outmanned team. But when a goaltender fails, everyone in the building knows it.
“The goalie is an individual position in a team sport,” New...

Five Things I Learned While Watching The Rangers Get Destroyed Tonight

The 10 Most Undeserving NHL Starting Lineup Figures
Growing up as a child of the 1980's, three things were my world: Hockey cards, G.I. Joe cartoons and Kenner Starting Lineup figures. Beginning in 1988, Kenner starting producing figures of Major League Baseball players, but didn't make the hockey jump until 1993. For eight years, puckheads kept busy collecting the annual series of figures and making the painstaking decision...

The Difference...
I've probably spoken about this before, but there is a stark difference in this year's Rangers team as opposed to years past.A Before the lockout, the Rangers were notorious for leaving points on the table. It was a few years ago, so my memory of those lean years is (thankfully) fading, but in 2002-03 and 03-04, I used to try to keep track of how many games the Rangers blew when...
