Halmo Suspended 10 Games for Hit on Yakupov on
The Ontario Hockey League handed down a 10 game suspension to Islanders’ prospect Mike Halmo for his hit to the head of Nial Yakupov on March 10.
Halmo will miss the Owen Sound’s final two games of the regular season and eight of the team’s playoff games.
The Sound forward had just signed an entry-level deal with the Islanders just hours before the incident occurred.
