What the addition of Carter means
The Gators got a big boost earlier this week when Rutgers guard Eli Carter announced he would transfer to Florida. After losing Kenny Boynton and Mike Rosario to graduation after last season, the guard position got an experienced playmaker that can create his own offense. The question now becomes whether or not he can be eligible for the 2013-14 season.
Evaluating Eli Carter to Florida
In recent years Coach Donovan has done well with transfers. Mike Rosario just wrapped a successful career for the Gators, and last year Florida picked up two of the better guys on the market. Now they're back at it again, this time snaring Eli Carter who just finished his sophomore year at Rutgers.
Does Carter belong on the transfer A-list, like Donovan's previous pick...
Future of the position: Small forward
The depth on the Florida roster next year will provide flexibility at the small forward position. Last year, the Gators didn’t play with a small forward often, instead going with Kenny Boynton, Mike Rosario and Scottie Wilbekin in a three-guard lineup. The added depth this year means Florida could still use a three-guard lineup or try other players as a true small forward.
Reload or Rebuild? Gators' outlook for 2013-14
The Gators had a solid, but unspectacular season. Six of the fifteen presason top 25s I tracked in the Vitale Cup included the Gators in their preseason top 10, and it's likely that fewer prognosticators will be that bullish this year. UF graduates Kenny Boynton, Mike Rosario and Erik Murphy, and there's a solid chance that junior Patric Young departs early for the draft...

ARLINGTON, Texas -- With 1:04 left on the clock and Michigan ahead by 25, Florida seniors Erik Murphy, Kenny Boynton and Mike Rosario walked to the bench for the final time in their Gator uniforms.
Gators coach Billy Donovan waited with a hug as the trio checked out of Florida's 79-59 loss to the Wolverines in the South Region championship Sunday.

Rosario goes off the back for crafty play
It turns out that FGCU isn’t the only school in Florida capable of highlight-reel plays. In fact, against Florida Gulf Coast, the Florida Gators reclaimed their dominance of the Sunshine State, and did so in style. In the last few minutes of the game, point guard Mike Rosario had a streetball-ish inbound pass off the back of an Eagles defender which he then turned into a vicious...

It is a business trip for the Florida basketball team… trip of unfinished business for three years now. The Gators have been last second shots away from two Final Fours in the last two seasons and seniors Mike Rosario, Erik Murphy, and Kenny Boynton have used that as motivation to try and finish the deal this year. They are two steps away from that goal and talk about it here.

Florida continues to carry the banner for the SEC. It’s the first time in school history Florida has reached the round of 16 three straight years. The Gators next play Friday in Arlington, Texas, against tournament Cinderella Florida Gulf Coast.

Gators need Rosario's best to make Final Four
AUSTIN, Texas The Gators need Mike Rosario if they are going to reach the Final Four and have a shot at a national championship.
But they need the good Rosario, not the bad Rosario that sometimes drifts into his own world and causes Florida coach Billy Donovan to wonder if he is dealing with an imposter in a No. 3 jersey.
"There's times where he can be a little carefree...

Who are the Gators? A Q&A with Alligator Alley
Only one thing stands between the Gophers and the second week of the tournament – the Florida Gators. Easy, right? Admittedly, I haven’t watched a whole lot of Florida basketball this year since the SEC is relatively inaccessible in these parts. To help give us a little idea who who the Gators are and what [...]
