MSU Football: Special teams preview

While some fans ignore the special teams aspect of the game, those who know football know just how important it is–especially at Michigan State. The Spartans pride themselves on their special teams units, and for good reason. MSU has solid coverage teams along with one of the top kicking duos in the entire country in punter Mike Sadler and place-kicker Michael Geiger. Michael...

Mark Dantonio hugged and mentioned Rich Homie Quan after the Rose Bowl

Michigan State beat Stanford 24-20 in the 100th edition of the Rose Bowl. After avoiding a Gatorade bath from his players, Mark Dantonio celebrated on the field with Rich Homie Quan. Quan later posed with Spartan’s punter Mike Sadler in the locker room. *** This isn’t the first time Dantonio and Rich Homie Quan have been mentioned together. After the Michigan game the coach...

MSU Punter Mike Sadler Tweets Photo Of Mark Dantonio’s Letter That Promised He’d Punt In The Rose Bowl

College football coaches make a lot of promises when recruiting players to join their programs. The sell recruits on early playing time, tell them that they can send guys to the NFL with regularity, and promise that their team will play for conference and national titles. Obviously, not all of these promises come true, even if many are made with good intentions. Michigan State punter...

Video: Michigan State Pulls Off Another Fake Field Goal in Win Over Nebraska

Mark Dantonio and the Michigan State Spartans did it again. Up six in the fourth quarter at Nebraska, Dantonio reached into his bag of tricks and pulled out another fake field goal. This one worked — as so many of the Spartans’ trick plays have — as Mike Sadler, the holder for the attempt, took off and ran for three yards on the 4th-and-1. Michigan State capped off the drive...

Michigan State Football Preview: From Rose Bowl Hopes, to Barely Bowl Eligible

Well I am sure like me, other Spartan fans are extremely happy that the 2012 football season is over. Unfortunately, today is the day that we re-live the brutal 2012 Michigan State season. Expectations were high, and many were picking the Spartans to reach their first Rose Bowl since 1987, but everything seemed to go wrong as MSU finished 7-6 (3-5).  The 2013 season...

The Michigan Medley was in the wrong stadium on Saturday

I have a confession. I wasn’t perched high atop Michigan Stadium, looking down on Michigan’s thrilling win on Saturday from the press box. I wasn’t even in Ann Arbor. Nor was I watching the game from the comforts of my own couch. Instead, I was viewing it on a 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED screen in section 16, row 34, seat 22 of Notre Dame Stadium. How I watched the Michigan game...
