Euroleague Power Rankings: Top 16 Tip-off Edition
It seems like forever, but Euroleague 2011-12 resurrects itself for Top 16 opening night tonight. What better way to celebrate, reckons BallinEurope, than with some good ol’ power rankings?
Once again, the caveat emptor-ish bit: These ratings are formulated from once source (namely yours truly) and are based on the way teams are trending at present. While play in other leagues...

The Beast is Back, our Hopes still Not
Last time Kendrick Perkins met Kevin Garnett and the rest of the Celtics team on the court we were a serious contender. We had beaten the Lakers, the Heat and were having quite a successful season.
The problem then was who would be the starting center for us. We had Shaq, Jermaine, Semih and Perkins. We had been beaten by the Lakers in the previous Finals because of the lack of...

Thunder-Celtics Preview
Kendrick Perkins said it "felt like the worst day of my life" when he got traded away by the Boston Celtics.
As it turns out, he may have gotten out just in time - and moved to one of the best possible situations.
Perkins returns to Boston with the surging Oklahoma City Thunder to face his former team for the first time Monday night, and the aging Celtics are in the midst...

Okay, BallinEurope’ll pimp this. Below runs a nice production of Milos Teodosic highlights from the folks at the official website of CSKA Moscow basketball. A decent acquisition this past off-season, eh?

Would you believe “Nenad Krstic: The Movie”?
Well, okay, sort of. Insert a few more game clips and you’ve probably got CSKA Moscow’s approximation of what Phil Jackson’s game films used to look like. Via CSKA Basketball tweet, see the trailer for the cinematic epic of 2011 below the break.

Thanks for the memories: Top performances by locked-out NBA players in Europe
BallinEurope bids adieu to the all-too-brief wackiness that was the ENBA: A period of time shorter than Allen Iverson’s career with Beşiktaş, though for a sweet, brief while it seemed like forever … ah, the feeling of a too-fast love affair dragged down by unfeeling reality, leaving only fond memories and bitter tears to … o, sorry. BiE got a bit wound up there.

EuroLeague First Round Week 4 Recap: CSKA-PAO, Nancy-Caja, Partizan-Real
CSKA-Panathinaikos:The premier matchup of Week 4 went down to the wire with CSKA stealing a road win in OT, 78-76. Game was close, but not well-played. Rather sloppy affair with ill-advised shots and a combined 37 turnovers. PAO really hurt themselves down the stretch with plenty of bad decisions with the ball.Wasn't Andrei Kirilenko best game on the offensive end--five TOs...

Sonny Weems Euroleague Highlights
My main man Sonny Weems appears to be doing fairly well in Lithuania. Relative to some of the other NBAers (including Sonny’s teammate Ty Lawson) who chose to take their talents to Europe, he’s doing spectacular. In his Euroleague debut, Weems fell just two points shy of leading his team, Zalgiris Kaunus, in scoring. He dropped 16 points (although it took him 16...

Nenad Krstic and AK47 do the Macarena
No, it's not a joke. Yes, people in Russia apparently still do the Macarena. Check out the video above of our boy Curly dancing with Andrei Kirilenko and a couple other players, courtesy of The Basketball Jones. The Macarena starts at about 1:07. If you watch the whole thing, you will get to see a plethora of other horrible dance moves.

Video: Andrei Kirlenko and Nenad Krstic celebrate CSKA Moscow with dance medley
A few weeks ago, we brought your attention to Andrei Kirilenko's gun-crazy introduction at CSKA Moscow. It was an odd way to celebrate a big signing, but presumably this is just how they roll in Russia. We shouldn't judge other countries for customs that we don't understand. Maybe an AK-47 augurs good luck.
It appears that assault weapons are not the only thing that CSKA...

Celtics NBA 2K12 ratings
NBA 2K12's new player ratings are flying around the internet today because they were leaked in a YouTube video.
As you can see, most of the ratings are visible, though Rajon Rondo's are obscured by the highlight bar. I assume it's somewhere in the 80's, helped by his speed, ballhandling and passing but hurt by his perimeter offense.
The one thing that...
