Nick Evans has been called the first baseman of the future for the New York Mets and has been considered the heir apparent to Carlos Delgado.
The Mets may have to rethink all of that in light of the tremendous struggles Evans is experiencing at AAA - Buffalo.

Whats not to like about Daniel Murphy, the gritty hardnosed player has shown patience and ability at the plate. In his first 79 ABs he's hitting .359 with two home runs and 13 RBIs. He's a bit of an adventure playing out of position in the outfield but so far his offense has...

Somebody forgot to give Nick Evans the memo. The young first baseman started the spring with a one way ticket to AAA Buffalo, but all bets are off now. Apparently, either nobody told Evans, or he decided on his own to make it utterly impossible for the Mets to send him to the minors...

It's a little premature to discuss this, but on a slow news day as the team wraps up spring training it should be an interesting week for Nick Evans. After hitting .270 with 12 RBIs, 3 HRs, 2 triples and 5 doubles ( slg. pct. .514) Evans was rewarded by making the team. However...
