What The Hell Will Omar Do About The Pitching?
In a weak effort to see what, if any prospects there are to resolve the dismal prospects for the 2010 Mets and in particular, the shambles that is currently the pitching staff, I've unearthed the following:The Mets, to put in it in the local parlance, are fecked.Although Chewy hasn't pitched in organised baseball in several years, he is rumoured to be on Omar's radar...

Odalis Perez
It looks like the opening night starter will be Odalis Perez. I was hoping for Tim Redding. This has nothing to do with Perez not having pitched a game for the Nats before. Would you begrudge Opening Night to Johan Santana, Erik Bedard, Jake Peavy or Brandon Webb if they were new Nats? Of course not, especially if you believed those aces were going to pitch Opening Day next...

BODY COUNT Since finishing last in the major leagues last season with a 59-102 mark, people have been dismissed at all levels of the Nationals' organization: PLAYERS Dmitri Young, an All-Star in 2007, has spent the year on the disabled list and in the minor leagues. Seriously, What The Hell Happened to Odalis Perez?
By now, we all know what happened with Odalis Perez this offseason with the Nationals (if you need a refresher, click here), but what I cannot figure out is what happened to Odalis Perez. Here is a guy who went 7-12 with a 4.34 ERA with the last place Washington Nationals last season, numbers that should have him pitching in the majors this season. But for some reason, no one has...

First off, my apologies for the lack of posting this weekend. I spilled a drink on my Macbook on Friday and even though it was pretty clear by Saturday morning that it was going to survive, I tried to not boot it up much over the weekend and let it dry as much as possible to avoid doing any further damage to it. Everything appears to be in working order now and even the wet spot...

They're playing the season opener right now, and the Nats hold a 2-1 lead over the Bravos headed into the top of the 8th. Odalis Perez (why does John Miller insist upon saying Perez like he does? Pear-ez) pitched 5 innings of one run ball! Holy crap, now there's a shocker.
