Combine Snubs Who Showed ’Em, Part II
As we mentioned in Part I, kudos to Gil Brandt and his pro day blog on NFL.com. A very entertaining read.
Below, we cite some more players who lacked invitations to the combine but whose performances would have fit right in at Indianapolis. For a rundown of each drill’s specific requirements, take a gander at the NFL.com combine workouts page.

Gators seniors seek sweet Sugar Bowl ending
NEW ORLEANS Most of them lurked in the shadows three years ago when the Gators were last here for the Sugar Bowl. They were on the team but it wasn't their team.
The 2009 Florida squad which trampled Cincinnati to cap a 13-1 season belonged to a group of upperclassmen led by seniors Tim Tebow and Brandon Spikes. Florida's starting lineup that night featured 16 players on...

Two big plays enough for UF to beat Mizzou
GAINESVILLE, Fla. Florida's offense was sputtering along like a '72 Volkswagen, relying heavily on punter Kyle Christy to keep Missouri pinned deep in its own territory.
It was early in the second half and the Gators not only trailed by a touchdown, they had yet to score. They needed something to happen after Pop Saunders' 16-yard punt return gave them the ball at Missouri...
Muschamp, Gators figure out Aggies' plan
COLLEGE STATION, Texas It is not that Will Muschamp did not appreciate all of the hype, the emotion, the external factors or even the complexity of football itself.
He did. He even said something about ruining the happy narrative of Texas A&M winning its first SEC game.
It's just that Muschamp did not see No. 24 Florida's 20-17 win over Texas A&M Saturday at Kyle...

Omarius Hines Hoping For Big Final Season
Omarius Hines hasn’t had the career he dreamed of. Since committing to the Florida Gators, things haven’t turned out exactly as expected. Sure, Hines was on the roster in 2008 when the Gators brought home their third national championship, but he spent the season redshirting. Since then, he was moved from wide receiver to tight end, where he is currently listed despite the fact...
With Burton and Hines, UF has versatility
GAINESVILLE, Fla. Both have played multiple roles and worn multiple numbers in their time with the Gators.
Trey Burton has moved around more than an Army brat the past two seasons. He has lined up at quarterback, running back, receiver, tight end and fullback. Burton has also played on special teams. Burtons career highlight is a good one: a six-touchdown performance against Kentucky...
Journey Ends This Season for Hines
There might not be a player on the Florida roster that understands the new offense better than Omarius Hines. The redshirt senior has lined up all over the field during spring installation and fall camp. He came to Florida as a receiver and split some time at tight end before moving to running back in the spring. Now, his versatility could be a big part of the Gators’ attack.
Gators ready to find answers to key questions
GAINESVILLE, Fla. The Gators get to rest Sunday other than for some afternoon meetings. For the first time since fall camp opened the players won't have to slip on their helmets and practice.
Meanwhile, the coaches have perhaps their most important day of camp. Gators coach Will Muschamp referred to Sunday as Decision Day.
"We need to start making decisions on who is...
Hines Hoping for More Touches at Running Back
Position changes usually come from coaches seeing a better place for a player to make an impact. For Omarius Hines, he was the one that saw the opening. The redshirt senior noticed the lack of proven running backs on the Florida roster, and after not seeing the field much at tight end or wide receiver in recent years, Hines asked the coaches if he could start getting touches as a running back.
Searching for Depth in the Backfield
The depth at running back isn’t pretty. The Florida coaches have been forced to get creative this spring, including getting some reps in the backfield for Omarius Hines and Chris Johnson, to make sure there are enough capable bodies in the fall. After only one day of practice in pads, Florida head coach Will Muschamp is optimistic about the position changes.
