The 2012 football season has long been over. And now with the 2012-13 basketball season coming to an end as well, we turn our attention to football recruiting. 2013 was kind to the Florida Gators, as the football team put together the type of recruiting class we’ve come to expect. 2014 should be no different and has already produced a group that forms a solid base to build upon...

It ain’t the Florida Gators without Puff the Magic Dragon

The Will Muschamp era for the Florida Gators has been a rather quiet one for the most part. His first season was a bit rough, not quite reaching the lofty standards of the goals set in Gainesville, but 2012 was a bit of a turnaround. The team finished the regular season 11-1, putting them back in a BCS Bowl. Of course, that didn’t go nearly as well as Swamp faithful had hoped,...

Gators' Debose turns out to be letdown

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- It no doubt wasn't fair for former Florida coach Urban Meyer to compare receiver Andre Debose to Percy Harvin before he even stepped on campus. Harvin was one of the top playmakers in school history. He turned short passes into huge gains, made defenders look silly with open-field moves and probably would have been a Heisman Trophy contender had he...

Coaches Look To Andre Debose To Step Up And Perform In 2012

The Florida Gators coaches are hoping for big things from wide receiver Andre Debose in 2012. In order for him to get there, he’ll need to find consistency to his play and be able to keep himself on the field. Debose has been labeled a star-in-waiting since before he committed to Florida. He was dubbed the next Percy Harvin, an unfair comparison for anyone but the first Percy Harvin...

The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Florida running back Chris Rainey in the 5th round of the 2012 draft with 180th overall selection. As If You Need More Reasons To Dislike Former Florida Gators Head Coach Urban Meyer

Yesterday brought us this – an article by Matt Hayes of the Sporting News exposing the real Florida Gators under former head coach Urban Meyer. For some, it was shocking. For most, it was on par with many of the rumors we’ve heard over the last few years. For all, it put another item (or two, or three) under “Cons” on the list of our thoughts about Meyer. I’m not a Meyer...

Percy Harvin reportedly grabbed receivers coach by the neck while at Florida

With Urban Meyer having moved on from Florida to become the head coach of Ohio State, it appeared that he has left the Gators without a proven leader and with a team that is heading in the wrong direction. There are some who believe the program is imploding because Meyer left. Others, however, insist the hard times Florida is falling on now are a result of the way Meyer did things...

Florida football report: Did it really tell us anything we didn't know?

Although Crystal Ball Run is primarily a college football-themed website, we couldn’t help but take notice a few weeks back when the good folks at SI released an in-depth report on the UCLA basketball program. Teased as a “shocking, tell-all report” the story turned out to be a lot sizzle and not all that much steak, detailing problems that some of UCLA’s players had with...
