The Baltimore Ravens have re-signed 26-year old LB Edgar Jones.  Jones played in 5 games for the Ravens last year and he had 2 tackles and 2 forced fumbles.  Jones has now played in 32 games in his first four years with the Ravens and he has 19 tackles, 2 forced fumbles and 1.5 sacks.  He will assume Prescott Burgess’ spot on special teams, while giving the Ravens depth at LB.

The Ravens have placed 27-year old LB Prescott Burgess on the Injured Reserve List, ending his season due to an abdomen injury.  Burgess played in 3 games for the Ravens this year and he had 3 tackles.  He has now played in 40 games in his first four years with the Ravens and he has 38 tackles.  This will hurt the special teams way more than the defense for the Ravens.

Ravens sign LB Edgar Jones

Tuesday I wrote the Baltimore Ravens placed linebacker Prescott Burgess on injured reserve with an abdominal injury. The Ravens have now made a corresponding roster move. Baltimore signed outside linebacker Edgar Jones to take Burgess' place.  Jones had been with the Ravens in previous seasons, but signed with the Washington Redskins this preseason before being released.
