Former Chief Holmes praises current star Charles

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The way Jamaal Charles figures it, he's picking up where Priest Holmes left off. After all, Charles and Holmes were both star running backs at Texas. They both wound up with the Kansas City Chiefs. And now that Holmes has been inducted into the franchise's ring of honor, Charles plans to one day join him, his name also added to those inside Arrowhead Stadium....

The Kansas City Chiefs Are the Most Boring Franchise in Football.

By Justin C. CliburnI can't be the only one who thinks this. I grew up in Oklahoma, so I've seen plenty of Chiefs games in my 25+ years of watching football . . . and the Chiefs are by far the most boring franchise over that time. It's not even close. I'd like to preface this by saying I am a traditionalist. I respect the history of the game and classic uniforms that don't change...

Ex-teammate says RoboPeyton can be beat, but you'll have to go 15 rounds

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Tell us, Jeff, please, for the love of Lamar. What the hell do we do? Because other than suiting up Priest Holmes and Trent Green again, nothing seems to work. Nothing. Nada. Zip, dude. Play soft, Peyton Manning dinks you to death, one pin prick at a time. Play tight, he floats daggers in over the top. Drop eight, Manning eventually finds the most exploitable...

Chiefs' Charles sets sights on Hall of Fame

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. -- At some point this season, likely within the first couple of games, Jamaal Charles will slide past Larry Johnson and breeze past Priest Holmes to become the Chiefs' career rushing leader. It's a goal, sure. But it's only a rest stop on the way to loftier expectations. After arguably the best season of his career and now armed with a new contract extension, Charles...

The All-Time NFL Undrafted Team

There were 256 picks in this year’s NFL draft. That means of all the college players that graduated or entered the NFL draft early, only 256 players were drafted by an NFL team. Of these 256 picks, roughly half of them will be contributors this season. Half of those players will be given a chance to start at some point in their careers. Think about how hard it is to become a...

New Steelers RBs Coach James Saxon Has A Resume That Speaks For Itself

When the Pittsburgh Steelers announced this week that James Saxon would be the new running backs coach, many in the fan base probable see him as just the man that didn't screw up Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson. After all, Peterson is so good that he doesn't even need a running backs coach, right? Saxon, however, had success coaching NFL running backs long before Peterson...

Savor Jamaal Charles' 2013 season, because it was the best ever by a Chiefs running back

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- We all know Jamaal Charles was sensational in 2013. For much of the season, Charles simply was the Chiefs' entire offense. He ran for 1,287 yards and caught 70 passes for 693 yards. All told rushing and receiving, Charles had 1,980 yards and 19 touchdowns. And in the history of Chiefs football, it was the best ever by a running back. OK, sure, fans of Priest...

It's time for Chiefs to erase the pain of playoff losses to the Colts

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Three times. Three times the Colts have ended a Chiefs playoff season, each one unique in its agony for Chiefs fans. Together they account for almost half of the seven consecutive playoff losses the Chiefs have endured since their last postseason win 20 years ago. That pain surely must end Saturday in Indianapolis, right? Here's a quick look back at the wreckage...

Chiefs still in search of the missing pass rush

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Five things on the current state of the Chiefs. PASS RUSH AWOL There's no secret that a key element to the Chiefs' defense is the pass rush. And without that pass rush, the Chiefs' defense can look pretty toothless, as has been the case the past three weeks. But defensive coordinator Bob Sutton still believes there is more to his defense than the glitz of...
