L.J. Smith is a Raven
In the latest of a flurry of moves in the past week, former Eagles tight end L.J. Smith signed with the Ravens for 1 year and $1.5 million. Smith will be fighting for the backup job with Quinn Sypniewski. What this means for Todd Heap and his duties for the Ravens is unclear as of now. The staff could be signing Smith to fight with him to be the starter or to let him be able...

Ravens Waive Sypniewski
As players and coaches descended to Westminster, Md., for the start of Ravens training camp, the team waived tight end Quinn Sypniewski. The former fifth-round draft pick out of the University of Colorado was coming off a year spent entirely on Injured Reserve, and an offseason setback to the recovery of his surgically-repaired knee didn’t help matters.

Tight end Quinn Sypniewski injured his knee during today's practice. The injury may be serious, which is a shame because starter Todd Heap is bound to get injured as well at some point. Happens every year.

Game Review: Philadelphia Eagles at Baltimore Ravens
The reports out of training camp of Matt Stover's demise were greatly exaggerated. There is no denying the 18-year veteran's few misses in camp, but there's no overlooking of his perfect performance in the first preseason game for Baltimore. Stover went five-for-five, including two field goals of 50 yards in Baltimore's rout of the Philadelphia Eagles, 29-3.
