Ex-Falcon Ray Edwards claims boxing safer than football

Ray Edwards made news this week but once again it had nothing to do with his one-time ability to play professional football. First, in early November, the Falcons cut the erstwhile defensive end for a poor attitude more so than they did poor performance. Then he made news again in February when a video surfaced of his doughy-looking opponent taking a dive during a boxing match....

Former Falcons DE: Heavyweight boxing is safer than pro football

Noted medical expert Ray Edwards, via this article on Yahoo!, has finally chimed in on the debate over which sport is safer: prizefighting or bear wrestling thresher chicken Russian roulette pro football. Edwards is one of a rare few that have found any sort of success in the pro ranks of both sports (and that level in boxing is pretty nebulous after only 4 fights but he is 4-0)...

Boxer Suspended for Throwing Fight

Ray Edwards, a Defensive End in the NFL, has used professional boxing to pass his time while in free agency. In a fight last week Edwards seemed to show that he was thriving in his pugilistic endeavor when he earned a KO just 13 seconds in to his bout. Upon further review however, it seems [...]

Video: Ring card girl continues working after fighter is KO'ed

Is this the most oblivious ring card girl in history? Without a doubt. This chick was so clueless that she walked around the ring holding up a card signifying the second round was coming even though the losing fighter was laying sprawled out on the ground after being knocked the f— out. This video began circulating on MMA forum Underground a few days ago and went viral on Friday...

Nicholas Capes, fighter who got knocked about by Ray Edwards’ phantom punch, gets suspended (Video)

Free agent defensive end Ray Edwards has always had a thing for boxing, but I highly doubt he ever thought scoring a knockout could be as easy as it was during a recent match in North Dakota against a “fighter” named Nicholas Capes. The video you see above has gone viral, and it clearly shows Capes taking the dive of the century early in the fight when Edwards missed him with...

Something about Ray Edwards’ boxing career isn’t right

Former Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons defensive end Ray Edwards has been having trouble finding work in the NFL.  He was referred to as a locker room cancer, despite the fact he had a fairly productive career, posting 8+ sacks twice in a seven-year career. As a new career, Edwards picked up boxing, although his skills seem to be lacking and this fight is absolutely staged...

A Boxing Flop Soccer Players Would Be Proud Of

NFLer 'earns' knockout in boxing match

The NFL career of former Vikings and Falcons defensive end Ray Edwards might be over after Atlanta released Edwards in November on account of being a surly, unproductive locker room cancer unwilling to attend team meetings.
