Edmonton Oilers stage third-period comeback to claim overtime win

The Edmonton Oilers showed once again why Rexall Place has become a goalie graveyard this year. In a building that has already claimed Devan Dubnyk, Jason LaBarbera, Richard Bachman and Ilya Bryzgalov, the Oilers spent most of Thursday’s game against the New York Islanders digging a hole for Goalie No. 5. But But Scrivens was in no mood for a dirt nap, turning in a 34-save effort...

The Edmonton Oilers were left digging for positives again following a brief two game road trip through Phoenix and Los Angeles. Richard Bachman has chance to revive NHL career with Oilers

When the Edmonton Oilers take on the Los Angeles Kings tonight, Richard Bachman will be in net. With “No. 1″ goalie Devan Dubnyk mercifully down with an injured ankle and Jason LaBarbera proving more capable of yelling at teammates and smashing sticks than stopping the puck, the Oilers will go to Bachman against the Kings. Originally drafted in the fourth round by the Dallas...

Audition time for Ty Rimmer has not come in the form of pre-season games not with the Edmonton Oilers squeezing in essential tune-up appearances for Devan Dubnyk and Richard Bachman. So the Edmonton-raised Grant Fuhr influenced goaltender has instead zeroed in on the shots he’s faced at team practice. “I’m here to get a job” said Rimmer who backed up Dubnyk in Vancouver...

Red Wings-Stars quick take: whew-hoo, playoff bound!

When I was sick as sick could be, early, often and repeatedly on Friday, I cannot deny that there was more than one period of time that I thought, "If the Red Wings lose on Saturday, then I'll really feel like I got kicked in the gut." And that was saying something given what my gut was doing to me. But the Detroit managed to make the playoffs for the 22nd straight...

Becoming “The Richard Bachman”

Right now, if you look up "Richard Bachman", you're more likely to get an article about Stephen KIng than the Dallas Stars goaltender.   And while Stephen King is an immednsely popular author, I have my suspicions he wouldn't make the cut as an NHL goaltender. Maybe Stephen King can meet us halfway and wrote a book featuring a really scary NHL goaltender.Or maybe...
