The Cubs Will Win the N.L. Central Because of Milton Bradley, Just Ask Him

Even before the addition of Milton Bradley the Cubs were no doubt most people’s (myself included) favorite to win the division. The Brewers were strong last year but they still couldn’t hang with the Cubs AND they lost Ben Sheets, C.C. Sabathia, and Salomon Torres to make matter worse. The Cards are always [...]

Sheets and Brewers continue to roll

Ben Sheets again showed why he is going to make a lot of money at the end of this season. Sheets was one out away from his third complete game of the season before his lone walk of the night got him lifted. Sheets went 8 2/3 innings and struck out five. He allowed seven hits and only one run in the Brewers 4-1 win over the Astros Saturday night. Sheets improved to 6-1 with the victory.

Brewers 6, Pirates 3

Yeah.....Tom Gorzelanny gave up all 6 in 4.2 innings. Not an ideal return. Adam LaRoche homered, but the Bucs left a lot of guys on base and should have done a lot more against Jeff Suppan. Warthen's Words: Nieses to Pieces!

Nieses to Pieces. That's the funny nickname pitching coach Dan Warthen used when he listed the 21-year-old lefthander, Jon Niese, on Tuesday's schedule for his rotation. It turned out to be prophetic. Niese, the Mets' top pitching prospect, came unglued in his major-league debut. His second pitch of the game was a home run to Rickie Weeks, and Niese ultimately had to be rescued...
