Properly evaluating Rich Cho’s personnel moves, as GM for the Blazers
Here is the “stats-based” take, from David Berri and Andres Alvarez:

Another sudden turn of events, in Portland
First. The Blazers made a major mistake, when they decided to fire Kevin Pritchard, as their GM, on the eve of last summer’s NBA Draft.
Second. Portland made a second blunder this season, when they traded Joel Przybilla [C] + Dante Cunningham [PF] + Sean Marks [PC-C] + 2 conditional future 1st Round Draft Picks to Charlotte for Gerald Wallace [SF-PF].
Third. The Blazers now...

Main reason Portland should have held onto Przybilla, Cunningham and Marks
Of all the trades that were made in conjunction with last week’s NBA Trade Deadline, the one which involved Portland and Charlotte might turn out to have the most negative effect on the immediate fortunes of a specific franchise previously thought to be on the rise by many astute NBA observers.
From the Trail Blazers’ Perspective
Sent to the Charlotte Bobcats:
- Joel...

Marks could stick as insurance
The Charlotte Bobcats might not waive Sean Marks immediately, after all. Since they're already paying him, they might keep him around until they know how much Joel Przybilla's knee can take.

MJ Goes On The Defensive
No one is handing out any gold medals to Michael Jordan for running an NBA franchise. There was his draft pics of Kwame Brown in Washington and Adam Morrison in Charlotte. His trades have also been questioned in the past, remember the Jerry Stackhouse for Richard Hamilton trade? The track record isn't sterling.
With the trade deadline now done and over, Jordan mad a few deals...

Midseason Player Evaluations
These player evaluations are in rough order of value to the team–think of them as power rankings. For our purposes, my definition of “value to the team” is based on how they’ve played this season, rather than their potential place in the Blazers’ future plans (otherwise Nicolas Batum would be higher). Greg Oden and Elliot Williams are not included, obviously, as they have...
