Ryan Clark Will Try To Change Number To 21 If Mewelde Moore Does Not Return
Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark announced on Twitter tonight that he will attempt to change his number from 25 to 21 if running back Mewelde Moore does not return in 2012. Moore will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
The number switch is a tribute to Sean Taylor, a good friend and former teammate of Clark's when he was with the Washington Redskins. Taylor...

Purple Heart Chaplain Honors Sean Taylor
[Editor's Note: With all of the pageantry and celebration of last weekend's Military Appreciation Weekend, there was one story that I held onto for a moment when it could really be appreciated it. I hope you enjoy.]
At halftime of last Sunday’s game against the Patriots, three officers of the Maryland department of the Military Order of the Purple Heart bestowed two injured veterans...

The 10 Most-Retweeted Pics of the Week
A book led this week’s most-retweeted pics, but it wasn’t from the Twilight or Harry Potter franchises. Even more impressively, the image wasn’t from a teen idol, but from a guy with a relatively small Twitter following who nonetheless calls himself @AWomansBlessing.
There was also a nice tribute to Sean Taylor, the Redskins’ free safety, who was killed four years ago and...

PFT Live 12/01: PFT Planet, Santana Moss
Mike Florio takes calls, tweets, and emails from PFT Planet. Fans want to know why Florio hates the Raiders and if A.J. Smith will leave if Norv Turner is fired. Sean's Gone
There was no good way to say it when it happened. There is no good way to say it now.But this is how Sean Taylor's death struck me then, so I will continue to make this silent tributefor as long as the feelings remain unchanged. (Reprinted from November 28, 2007)It’s not a long drive to my son’s high school, maybe 15 minutes. Most mornings, we share sleepy wise cracks—which...

The last time I was in Seattle, it was to cover the only playoff game I’ve been on the sidelines for.
After the shocking death of safety Sean Taylor, the Washington Redskins rallied to win their final four games of the 2007 regular season to sneak in the postseason.

Sean Taylor On The Minds Of Players
AP Image
As Redskins players take the field this afternoon, the four year memorial of the death of Redskins safety Sean Taylor is on their minds. The most amazing part is that, considering the turnover of the Redskins roster since 2007, there aren’t many players left that actually played with Sean. The overall feeling is still one of overwhelming respect and admiration, however...

Remembering Sean Taylor, four years after his death
Four years ago today, Redskins safety Sean Taylor died after being shot by intruders who had invaded his South Florida home. He was only 24. “It flies by,” Redskins teammate Santana Moss told WUSA. “It’s four years, but it just feels like yesterday.” Safety LaRon Landry, a rookie in 2007, said he still thinks every…

Remembering Sean Taylor, four years after his death
By all accounts, Sean Taylor shouldn't have survived as long as he did. The bullet that struck him during a botched robbery attempt at his Miami home on the night on Nov. 26, 2007 pierced his femoral artery, causing massive blood loss. He underwent seven hours of surgery and reportedly flatlined twice during the operation. Still, he held on.
When Washington D.C. went to sleep that...

Late Game Open Thread: The Meast
My favorite player died four years ago today. It feels like it’s been much longer. I don’t have much to say beyond that. I never knew Sean Taylor, and it was rare that I even heard him speak. That said, I still get sad every year thinking about the loss. Seeing as how this is an open thread at a humor site, I’m not going to bum you out by dredging up old memories...

Four years later, Redskins safety Sean Taylor remembered
Sean was one of the few that didn't let up, even at the Pro Bowl. Ask Brian Moorman.Last year I wrote a piece on Sean Taylor, his life, his career and interviewed several people for their opinions and where they were when they heard he had lost his life. This year, I would like to put his life into the personal perspective of a die-hard Redskins fan. That fan just happens to...

Steelers SS Ryan Clark Keeping Things In Perspective
Ryan Clark is quick to dust himself off when things go awry. He resists negativity, no matter how dire the situation. Typically, he's the first to remind everyone that football is only a game even when the Steelers fall short as they did in a gut-wrenching loss to rival Baltimore earlier this month. He vividly remembers having to be medically cleared to attend the funeral...
