Kobe Bryant Reverse Alley Oop Dunk, As He Drops 48 on the Suns
Kobe Bryant jumped in the Hot Tub Time Machine to the Smush Parker years, with a vintage Darth Kobe performance.
He still isn’t the Kobe of old, but the rumors of his demise have been greatly exaggerated.
Currently he is second in the league in scoring.
Pretty dunk right here, looks like those German doctors knew what they were doing.

A closer look at Kobe’s clutch
The Lakers questionable moves and Kobe’s possible injury woes this season had some of us looking into the Lakers fate. While I was in the midst of doing research for that I decided to take a closer look at a common theme for Kobe fans: Kobe is clutch and wins when it matters. Henry Abbott has written about how this is not true several times. A while back I even wrote why this...

Kobe Bryant Shares His Thoughts On Michael Jordan And The Current NBA Player He’d Want On His Team
By now you’ve seen the footage of Kobe Bryant telling a story about what life was like with the Lakers during the Kwame Brown/Smush Parker years. That footage is actually from a UC Santa Barbara psychology class where Kobe was speaking last week.
But that wasn’t the only interesting tidbit that was uncovered, Kobe also spoke on his current relationship with Michael Jordan...

KOBE REFLECTS ON “BUTTER KNIVES” KWAME BROWN & SMUSH PARKER!
With NBA in a state of limbo behind this disruptive lockout, there is plenty of time for reflection by its players. Los Angeles Lakers superstar KOBE BRYANT took a moment during a recent presser to reflect on his lean years before PAU GASOL arrived in L.A. when he had “butter knives” KWAME BROWN and SMUSH PARKER on the team…
Bryant explains how former Laker Kwame...

You Better Catch That Kobe Bryant Pass
You see those two things under the bus Kobe Bryant is driving on his way to an interview at the University of California, Santa Barbra? Well those aren’t speed bumps, their Kwame Brown and Smush Parker. Zing!
“So we go back to the timeout and I’m [upset], right? He goes, ‘I was wide open.’ ‘Yeah, I know.’ This is how I’m talking to him, like, during the game....

Video: Kobe Bryant Talks ‘Melo, Looks Back on Kwame, Smush Days
On Wednesday morning, Kobe Bryant stopped by a UCSB classroom where he fielded some questions – specifically addressing Carmelo Anthony, Kwame Brown and Smush Parker – during an informal Q&A session with a group of students and their professor. We have posted the video(s) below, courtesy of Laker Nation member Imadul Kabir from MixMakers.net. For those that are feeling...

Kobe Bryant Disses Former Teammate Hint: It’s Not Shaq
Most Laker fans simply refuse to acknowledge “the dark years.” You know when the team was comprised of players like #1 draft bust Kwame Brown and Smush Parker? Kobe shares a story to illustrate just how painful that time period was for him. In a game against the Detroit Pistons, Kobe attempts to pass the ball to a wide open Kwame and then…

Did Kobe Bryant Quit in the 2006 Western Conference 1st Round Game 7 vs. The Phoenix Suns?
As the resident Kobe fan of Chasing 23, nothing irks me more than the claim that Kobe has “quit’ on his team several times during his career. No other argument seems more contrary to who Kobe fundamentally is. This line of Kobe bashing came into play once again during the 2011 Finals as folks began to compare Lebron’s performance to the games that Kobe supposedly “quit...

Friday's Bullets
I miss this yesterday, but everyone should check out Tom Ziller's Purity Scale for point guards at SB Nation. It shows that not being a pure point guard isn't really a bad thing and that Andre Miller is never as pure as one might imagine.
Jay Aych at Painted Area is looking at the idea of Detlef Schrempf and Rik Smits being considered for the basketball HOF. Personally...

Young Jeff Teague goes baseline and flies past Joakim Noah…
Honorable mention to Josh “Jumpshot” Smith for kinda-sorta catching Luol Deng on this putback slam. He should’ve thrown it down the first time, though… like Teague did.

NBA Appreciation Day: Sickest Rim Hangs
First of all, I appologize for failing to make this post two Fridays in a row. I couldn’t find any time to do it last week, and the week before that I simply forgot. I’m going to make up for it, though…
So, a week or so ago, I saw the following dunk by Darrell Arthur…

The Last Stand
It's an anomaly for the defending champions to be down 2-0 against this decades biggest playoff chokers.
The Lakers squandered a 16 point lead in game one. Which is inexcusable, for a team of that caliber. Kobe Bryant scored at will, but who else stepped up? The fourth quarter was filled with bad play and coaching.
The last time the Lakers playbook consisted of only Kobe Bryant...

Kobe Bryant Still Killing Smush Parker
Kobe still has to hate on Smush Parker.
You mean when I was throwing to Smush? I shot with three motherf****** on me. That’s the difference. Now I only shoot with one, maybe two.

Smush Parker who played with the Lakers for two seasons (05-06, 06-07), made news yesterday at Lakers practice when Kobe Bryant decided to reference him when answering a reporters question.
The question was regarding Derek Fisher’s clutch performance on Sunday Night’s game against the Blazers. Kobe was asked if he missed Fisher’s heroics...

Kobe Bryant Still Bashing Smush Parker
After Kobe Bryant's emotional performance on Monday night, he was asked how important it was to have Derek Fisher and if he missed Fish when he was playing elsewhere. Bobcats got your tongue? Lakers get sent home with bruised egos
Somebody call Smush Parker and tell him to dust off his purple kicks. Because if Kobe Bryant is at all missing the time he played with Kwame Brown, a 10-day for Smush in L.A. could be in the cards … OK, so Kobe didn’t say he misses Kwame — he didn’t say anything at all [...]

Kobe Bryant Admits He Isn’t In His “Prime”
An objective basketball observer knows that Kobe Bryant’s “Prime” was spent unfortunately with Smush Parker and Kwame Brown.
It is a bit surprising that Kobe who is fiercely defiant about everything would say something like this.
“In my prime, I couldn’t do the things Dominique could do.”
People confuse “physical prime” and “mental...
