Devils Grab Overtime Victory From Rangers

Koivu with Talent? Ridiculous.
Minnesota Wild Captain Mikko Koivu has never played on a line with any sort of goal-scoring talent, yet he has averaged around 60 points a season over his entire career. Over that six season span he has played with such scoring savants(*) as Antti Miettinen, Stephane Veilleux, Eric Belanger and Andrew Brunette. Ok, Brunette was a good player, but most of his former linemates were...

Tampa Needs To Start The Hiring Process
from Damian Cristodero of Lightning Strikes,
It probably is too harsh to say the Lightning has steered without a rudder since the April 12 firing of general manager Brian Lawton. But it is not too harsh to say the recent storm over whether to pay for Stephane Veilleux’s surgery is a good example of why new owner Jeff Vinik needs to finally hire a new GM and chief executive...

Fight Leads To Wild Comeback
from Michael Russo of Russo’s Rants,
Wild down 3-zip. Playing absolutely hideously. Coughing up pucks. Giving up 2-on-1’s and 3-on-2’s and even an astonishing 4-on-1. Getting zero done in the offensive zone.
And then … a couple choice words during the second intermission and a fight, and the first-ever Wild comeback from three goals down in the third for a W.
