Chargers place LB Cooper on IR
The San Diego Chargers placed linebacker Stephen Cooper on injured reserve with a biceps injury.
The Chargers also signed linebacker Gerald Hayes to fill the vacated roster spot.
Cooper has been playing through a torn muscle this season but decided that surgery was the best course of action to fix the problem.
The nine-year veteran had 43 tackles while starting 12 games last season.

Injury to Stephen Cooper
Chargers.com has reported that Stephen Cooper tore his biceps in the Sunday night game against Dallas. This injury comes less than two weeks after the team re-signed Cooper somewhat unexpectedly. He is now expected to miss two to three months minimum. Although he likely would not have started, it is still a big loss for the team in terms of veteran leadership.
