Steven Stamkos can end Sidney Crosby’s reign on top

For about a thousand good reasons, Sidney Crosby is considered the best player in the world. It probably has a thing or two to do with the fact that he’s the defending MVP and scoring champion, winning the latter by a mile and a half last year as the only player to hit the 100-point […] The post Steven Stamkos can end Sidney Crosby’s reign on top appeared first on Two Pad Stack.

Video: Steven Stamkos does the field goal challenge

Watch Steven Stamkos shoot pucks through the uprights. As cool as it is seeing Stamkos split the posts from some serious deep yardage, the star of the show is the fact this video brings back the idea of the glowing puck. Feel free to debate the legitimacy of this video, but it’s still cool seeing Stamkos put a puck through from 91 yards.

Steven Stamkos Shoots Puck Through Field Goal Posts To Promote New Stick

To promote their new MX3 hockey stick, Bauer had their premier athlete Steven Stamkos shoot pucks through the uprights on a football field. Yes, you read that right. It’s no coincidence that #91 made a 91-yard Field Goal as his last shot either. Pretty impressive display by Stamkos. It's good: Steven Stamkos takes his slapshot to the football field

Tampa Bay Lightning star Steven Stamkos is known for his stick-handling. After all, he has led the NHL in goals twice in his six-year career (60 in 2011-12 and tied with Sidney Crosby with 51 in 2009-10). But how would the nearly healthy Stamkos -- who is is second among active players with 233 goals since the start of the 2008-09 season -- fare if his shot was transported to another...

Have you ever wondered how far Steven Stamkos of the Tampa Bay Lightning can hit a hockey puck through the uprights of a football goal using a hockey stick?  Well wonder no more!  Stamkos teamed up with Bauer and used the MX3 stick to create this amazing video. He scores from 91 yards.  NINETY-ONE YARDS!  It reminded me instantly of ‘Happy Gilmore’, the 1996 movie that saw...

Pavel Kubina On The Tampa Bay Lightning

from Katie Strang of ESPN, The Lightning should have a healthy Steven Stamkos and goaltender Ben Bishop, something that was not the case in the 2013-14 Stanley Cup playoffs. Add some splashy offseason acquisitions -- defensemen Anton Stralman and Jason Garrison, and forward Brian Boyle -- and highly touted prospect Jonathan Drouin, and this could be the sleeper team of the...

Lightning captain Steven Stamkos back on ice with teammates

On Tuesday, Tampa Bay Lightning center Steven Stamkos returned to the ice and skated with his teammates for the first time with full strength since sustaining a broken tibia in his right leg last season. Twitter slip aside, Bolts' Stamkos has strong summer

As Steven Stamkos went about his business this summer, strengthening his surgically repaired broken leg, he sent the hockey world abuzz with the slip of a finger. While scrolling through his Twitter feed, the Lightning captain came across a story in The Hockey News about the possibility of Stamkos pulling a LeBron James-like move and signing a new contract with his hometown team...

Steven Stamkos Continues To Work On Strengthening His Leg

from Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune, Stamkos’ right leg, which was broken in a horrific on-ice accident on Nov. 11 in Boston, feels stronger than it did at the end of last season, when Tampa Bay was swept out of the playoffs by Montreal in the first round. One of two screws was removed from the leg last month, he said. And though he skated in Toronto last week, Stamkos...

Leave it to a promotional ball hockey event in late July to stir up one of the hottest discussions in hockey. If that isn't a true sign of it being the offseason, I don't know what is. Steven Stamkos' appearance at said event, held in Toronto, afforded media in attendance the opportunity to ask him about another hot topic in sports: LeBron James returning home to Cleveland...
