Nathan Horton Leaves Early in Bruins' Win in Philadelphia, Being Evaluated for 'Head Injury'
The Bruins bounced back from Saturday's loss to the Rangers in the closing seconds of overtime with an equally dramatic 6-5 shootout victory in Philadelphia on Sunday. But the win came at a cost, with forward Nathan Horton sitting out the third period after sustaining an apparent head injury. Horton was hurt on a high hit from Flyers forward Tim Sestito at 2:53 of the second...

Roger Mussa: Jersey Waiver Wire
As suggested by Tom Gulitti (no confirmation yet) a few players were placed on waivers today;
Matt Corrente, Peter Harrold, Jay Leach, Tim Sestito, Vladimir Zharkov, Stephane Veilleux and Mark Fraser. The hopes are they clear waivers and be able to be sent down to the AHL.
Corrente, Zharkov and Fraser are names that stand out.
In the New Jersey system these players are depth...

Roger Mussa: Devils vs. Rangers
The Jersey Boys are at it again...
It has been a while since a Devils/Rangers game had such meaning... and it feels good!
A few notes...
- Tim Sestito has cleared waivers...
- Marty Brodeur back in the lineup earlier than expected and will back up Hedberg tonight.
13-1-2 in their last 16 games was a pipe dream two months ago. The players are still being humble about...

Looking Ahead to the Weekend
The Devils kept recent strong streak alive as they defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2 in Newark on Wednesday. Ilya Kovalchuk, Brian Rolston, and Patrik Elias scored for New Jersey. The Devils almost lost their 3-0 lead as the Hurricanes made a late third period push to bring the game within one goal.
Today, the Devils had their standard practice as they get ready for a huge matchup...

Keys to Tonight’s Game @ Tampa Bay
Tonight the Devils try and win consecutive games for only the second time this season. As shocking as that is, the Devils have not won more than two games in row this season and have only won back to back games once. That is the reality the Devils face as they begin a three game road trip tonight in Tampa Bay. The Lightning coming off a 3-0 victory over the Washington Capitals...

Quick Hits 12/14/10
-Anssi Salmela will make his return tomorrow night when the Devils host the Coyotes.
My take: Good! I like this. Salmela can skate, is not afraid to jump in the play and take risks, has a great shot, and adds some desperately needed offense to the defensive corps.
-Correne and Vasyunov have been sent down to Albany.
My take: Corrente was not playing well and is not being replaced...

New Jersey Devils news and notes
First of all, I would like to say that last night was the best game the New Jersey Devils have played all season. Most would argue the game against the Canadiens (3-0 victory) was better but in my opinion this game will do more for the Devils. I say this because the Devils had an early 2-0 goal lead and blew it. However, they didn’t give up and came out with a 5-3 win.
Now...

Roger Mussa: 11 to Albany
Another day, another round of players leaving the big club.
Tyler Eckford and Olivier Magnan-Grenier, Patrick Davis, Stpehen Gionta, David McIntyre, Brad Mills, Tim Sestito, Mike Swift, Alexander Vasyunov, Chad Wiseman and Vladimir Zharkov.
Vasyunov, to me, the biggest surprise. I thought he had a better shot than Nick Palmieri, and maybe Rod Pelley. Eckford I understand as...
