Todd Jones Blowing More Than Saves
Todd "Hammer" Jones (we aren't sure how official that nickname is, but we heard it once and think it's perfect) was unable to close the game out for the Detroit Tigers, which eventually led to a 7-6, 11th inning loss to Minnesota. Besides the obvious ill-effects it had on the win-loss column, his inadequacies on the mound had an even greater reach. Chuck Douglas Booth, a 31-year...

MLB Number 59 - Todd Jones
Number 59 isn't the most popular baseball jersey number, but it was worn by one of the game's better relievers to ever take to a mound. Todd Jones, the journeyman closer, is the best MLB athlete to ever wear the jersey number 59.Todd Jones was drafted in the first round of the amateur draft in 1989 by the Houston Astros. Jones would play his first four MLB seasons with the Astros...

Former closer Jones throws out first pitch
Now that Todd Jones is a fan instead of a closer, he knows what it's like to be on the other side. It's not a competitive rush anymore.

Why the NCAA sucks
Read this column by Todd Jones. He is able to sum up some of my feelings on the sham that is the NCAA and amateurism. Amateur athletics is largely a relic that dates to a time when athletics was a pursuit reserved for the leisure time of the wealthy. I love the OSU football team and greatly enjoy college football. But I can't get past the fact that there is injustice here.

TODD JONES DOES AWESOME IMITATION OF MAGGLIO ORDONEZ DURING RAIN DELAY
Todd Jones is a funny dude. I remember one year I was at the Phillies vs. Tigers game at Citizens Bank Park. We were standing over the Tigers bullpen and Todd Jones had about a 20 minute conversation with my friends and I. I noticed his socks looked a little funny and asked him about it. He lifted his pant leg up and had argyle dress socks on. Funny dude.

Alabama's championship created a special memory
Todd Jones, Sporting News
The national championship game in Pasadena, Calif., between Alabama and Texas means so much more in Alabama than in Texas. I've been living in the state of Alabama for 20 years now and Auburn and Alabama is in the forefront of every conversation no matter where you are: church, Walmart, getting gas, school.
One year ago, one of my best...

Big match-up (for November, at least) when Ohio State heads to Chapel Hill to take on the Tar Heels. Curtis Granderson Needs Blogging Lessons From Todd Jones
Of the three Detroit Tigers who write on the side, Todd Jones takes the cake. He writes for the Detroit Free Press and The Sporting News. Granderson blogs about what how he went shopping at Wal-Mart. If these veteran players are about taking the younger players under their wing, Jones needs to give Granderson a bit of a talkin' to on how to write a good blog. What you bought...
