Tom Gordon has been struggling recently, giving up a run to the Mets on Saturday that helped raise his ERA to 5.16 for the season, but it appears that injuries have been the reason for his poor pitching. On Sunday night Gordon was placed on the 15 day disabled list due to elbow inflammation...

We all know the Philadelphia Phillies can score runs. Lots and lots of runs. Last year, the Phils paced the National League with 892 runs scores, 32 more than the thin-air bombers in Denver.
What we also know is, the city of Philadelphia could be in for a long year if their pitching...

Last year the bullpen nearly cost the Phillies a shot at the playoffs with the likes of Tom Gordon, Ryan Madson, Jose "Joe Table" Mesa, and Antonio "6-Finger Ant" Alfonseca. This season may turn out to be just as bad, as Pat Gillick put together the same crap of...

According to Tyler Kepner, Brian Bruney is headed Birmingham, Alabama on Wednesday to see Dr. James Andrews. A run at Huston Street of the Rockies, a veteran with American League experience who is pitching for an also-ran team, would seem to make a lot of sense. Street is only 25 and...

Screw winter, I hate it! Snow blows, ice irritates, wind chills chap, and slush sucks! I'm ready for some baseball, even if it's in the form of glorified stretching for pitchers and a bunch of squatting for catchers- bring on spring training. In about 12 days pitchers and catchers...

It's amazing how quickly things can turn around. Heading into this week, things looked grim for the Phillies, who had lost 11 of their last 14 games and were losing their grip on first place. Now, following a three game sweep of the Braves, everything seems right again.
