Breaking. Tony Richardson EXPECTED to resign with Jets
Breaking right now, word is FB Tony Richardson, who was cut by the Jets yesterday, is expected to resign with the Jets this week, and I hear it could be as soon as today, stay tuned for more news.
This could be great news, and a total 180 degree turn from about 12 hours ago, when Jets nation was in turmoil, but since then they locked up Darrelle Revis, and now resign T-Rich. Good stuff.

Jets Fullback Tony Richardson’s Take on Why the Lockout is a Bad Idea for the NFL
We are now about two weeks away from the expiration of the collective bargaining agreement, and two weeks away from the NFL officially locking out the players, putting the 2011 season in doubt.
One of the biggest things that the NFL and NFLPA do not see eye-to-eye on right now is that the NFL is refusing to open their books and share their expense reports with the players.
The NFL...

On his concerns…
I’ve been around football a long time. I remember this time last year we were talking about the running game. Everyone kept saying that we couldn’t run the ball and we wound up leading the league and setting a Jets’ record. It’s not necessarily a concern, we just have to keep working, believe in what our coaches are telling us and working hard.

Tony Richardson’s Last Lap Around the NFL?
Sports Illustrated has a great article on Jets veteran fullback Tony Richardson and how he’s enjoying what might be his last year in the NFL. The article asks how he’s stayed in the league so long – it appears the answer is simple.
"You would be surprised," former Chiefs back Priest Holmes says, "how many fullbacks around the NFL don’t like to hit."...

Richardson the latest Jet to be shown the door
Sounds like Tony Richardson better not watch last weeks episode of “Hard Knocks,” as it was on that show Rex Ryan made sure to point out he didn’t want to get rid of Richardson. Yes, the same Richardson that was released on Sunday.
Rex Ryan repeatedly stated that 16-year veteran fullback Tony Richardson wasn’t going anywhere. The Jets coach told the media...

Richardson believes deal will be reached
Tony Richardson acknowledged Tuesday night that Monday's decision by the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals to uphold the NFL lockout only will prolong the uncertainty of the league's labor situation. But the Jets' veteran fullback still believes there will be football for the 2011 season.
