Kiddy Cats Visit Kiddy Canes
Let The Games Begin
Florida Panthers head coach Peter DeBoer and his good friend, Carolina Hurricanes head coach Paul Maurice have agreed to play mostly youngsters in tonight’s pre season tilt. Would have to agree that it’s a good idea, as we need to find out where these kittens stand.
Tomas Vokoun is not playing in this one as Scott Clemmensen and Jacob Markstrom are...

FanSided NHL Recap-September 13th
The end is near. The end of the off season that is! Rookie camps have opened and veterans are starting to arrive in camp if they already haven’t. Even though there’s no action or games to report on, we certainly have enough newsworthy items to make sure you read. And I’m not even talking about Dan Ellis and “Twitter”, Ilya Kovalchuk and his contract...

The Party Starts Sunday!
Another Season Of Abuse?
Welcome to another hootenany, I mean training camp! Saturday will be the start of physicals and other medical testing to see how the cats measure up. Including the new and improved buff Little Stevie. Rumor has it, actually a story in The Hockey News about him working out this summer with ex-NHLer Gary Roberts. Don’t plan on 51 goals like Stamkos...

Wirtz Death Brings Blackhawks To Life
On April 8, 2007, the Chicago Blackhawks might as well have been left for dead.
The 3-2 loss to the Dallas Stars capped a 31-42 season for the Hawks. It was a year that started with Trent Yawney on the bench and ended with Denis Savard directing the Indianhead for the displaced Yawney.
For Chicago, the season-ending defeat wrapped up a four-year stretch where the team won 107 games...

Is that really your first question?
Sean Leahy over at P Diddy, I mean Puck Daddy, posted his excellent Colorado Avalanche season preview as part of an ongoing series previewing all 29 NHL teams.*He asked me and a few other bloggers for one or two sentences to use as quotes in the article. Now, I don't know what Jib thought one or two meant but Tapeleg still bested me in the quest to use the least amount of digi-bits...

Is Glen Sather Finished Making Moves?
Glen Sather... yet again... has totally changed the Rangers roster, from top to bottom. We have the toughest coach since the iconic Mike Keenan. The two best penalty killers on possibly the best penalty killing team are gone. Our free agent prize from two years back, Scott Gomez, was happily shipped up North.
Added to an anemic-like goal scoring team was quite...

Avs fan say good bye to Tyler Arnason.
Sounds like Avs fans are ecstatic to get rid of former SCSU Husky Tyler Arnason. The Comments on this subject are comical and worth the read. I first saw Tyler Arnason play for the Ice Sharks of the USHL in 1997-1998 and my first impression of Arnason was that he was lazy, a weak player that shied away from contact in the corners. The fact that he has made it this long in the NHL...

Our painful Arnie nightmare is over
Relief is finally here, Avs fans. No more startling, sweat-soaked leaps from the pillow at 3 a.m., following visions of Tyler Arnason playing for your team.
No longer will you have to pound the table after seeing Arnie get the puck taken off his stick, then watching him casually skate back to the bench with that [...]

Same ol' story
On Sunday night, the Oilers lost. That, in itself, is nothing unusual (they’ve lost 40 of the 76 games they’ve played this season). And they lost at home (again, not unusual… they’ve only won 16 home games, which is dead last in the Western Conference). And they lost to the Minnesota Wild (once again, not a real surprise… the Oilers are 9-21 against Minnesota since the...

Updates on a former WCHA players.
*Former SCSU player Tyler Arnason was a healthy scratch and his head coach Tony Granato isn't all that happy with his play so far. I have always thought that Arnason was a player that lacked a consistent work ethic to be a great player in the NHL. I am surprised that Arnason has made it this long in the NHL.
