We told you last night the Bucs were looking to sign a young veteran linebacker to add to the depth at that position.
They appear to have found exactly such a player in free agent Zach Diles, who was released by the Rams on Saturday. Diles, 26, played for Bucs coach Raheem Morris at Kansas State when Morris was defensive coordinator there in 2006.
Diles' agent, Brian Ayrault, confirmed...

Houston Texans Fortunate Win Does Not Provoke Optimism
We’ve seen almost everything under the sun from the Houston Texans this year.
The Texans are a far cry from their week one dominance of the Colts. There seemed to finally be a new team in Houston, but the past four weeks have looked like the past four years as inconsistencies remind fans of past seasons’ woes.
Like dozens of times before, the Texans found themselves in an offensive...

Romo, Cowboys Get Past Texans 23-22 in Big D
The battle for the Governor's Cup was started out in exciting fashion as Andr? Davis returned the opening kick off for 68 yards. This put the Texans in great starting field position but the offensive line was no match for the Dallas Cowboys' defensive line. Seven plays after starting on the Cowboys 37 yard line they settled for a 44 yard field goal from Kris Brown.

Higher Education – Stop Rate for Linebackers
Now that we've endeavored to put statistical value on the pass defense efforts of cornerbacks and safeties, it's time to take a good look at the most and least effective pass-defending linebackers. As with safeties, it's tough to separate scheme from effectiveness — there are linebackers who are tethered to the front and only roll back in desperation, and there are others who are...
