We Beat LA T-Shirts

Just wanted yall to know that I had a chance to do some shopping at Modell's the other day. They put out some nice We Beat LA ladies t-shirts so I picked up a few for my girl. There was a big crowd there when I arrived but I was able to pick up a few things, including some golf clubs. Taking up golf this offseason. Time to start playin. Gotta give Modell's a shout out for getting a bunch of those t-shirts delivered to us so the other wives could have them for the parade. They were a big hit and only added to the sea of green along the parade route. I'm in KY now for my basketball camps. I'll holla!

Celtics Championship Parade!!

We've all seen these parades on SportsCenter, the highlights of fans lining the streets, going crazy, but until you're in one I'm tellin u... U HAVE NO IDEA!! The madness was crazy. Not sure how many people were out there but it seemed like millions. It was just a sea of green, people everywhere. All ages. And they were going crazy. Some of u were probably there makin all that noise, and trust me we heard ya. And if u weren't there u will see on the highlights and you will wish u were there. It was a day filled with confetti, music, screaming and Green, Celtic Green. The celebration was off the hook, one that none of us will ever forget.

Everything started this morning. We met at the facility at 8:45 and took the team bus to the Garden. We had police escorts down. When we got to the Garden, we saw all the people in the streets... it was crazy!

We were all assigned Duck Boats to ride through the city. I was on #16. I was inside the Duck Boat at first, but when we pulled out of the parking lot, I went and stood on the back. MAN...IT WAS AMAZING. It felt soo good to see all the people that came out. I'm telling you that there's nothing in the world that tops that feeling. The signs that people had were great...there were some real funny ones. E. House was on the Duck Boat with me, and we pointed out the best signs to each other. I'm telling u it was some crazy ones! I think E. House coined how we all felt on the Duck Boat when he said, "We went from basketball stars to rock stars in one day." That's how I felt...like a rock star.

Purple

Yo...I started drinking this new healthy drink called Purple - The bottle says it's the most powerful antioxidant beverage on the planet. Supposed to help the body recover so day after the NBA Finals I started drinking it. One of their mottos is "It's all good" - I like that. Plus they are focused on social causes so it really is all good. You can check them out at drinkpurple.com. I made a little video about Purple yesterday - check that out too. I'll holla

We're Hangin #17

Hey Yardbarkers, hope U stayed up for this - WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!

All the photos, the interviews, the madness in the locker room and it still hasn't really sunk in yet. But I do know we're a part of history. We just added a banner to the rafters!! And it was great to do it in front of all those great champions - Bill Russell, JoJo White, John Havlicek - all the guys who've made so much history. And the fans were rockin again - but that's nothin new - they've been great all year, every night!!

Now we celebrate and I get to share this with all the great players in this locker room - CELTICS ARE CHAMPIONS!! I'll holla

Coming Home for Game 6

We fought tonight, but in the end, it wasn't enough. I know I will be breaking down film tomorrow to see where I could have been better. It's going to be a long flight back home, but it will give me plenty of time to reflect. I have confidence in my team, and I'm sure we will bounce back! I'm going to need to see and hear all the fans on Tuesday in the Garden. Like KG says, "...keep that mother#*%!@$ rocking." Until then, I'll holla!

I just got Rondo'd

U wanna waste an hour and 8 minutes of your life? I did. I JUST GOT RONDO'D. I just saw the worst movie. I thought I would just have a chill night tonight. We had a team dinner earlier today, and after that, I thought I would come back to the room and watch a movie with my family. Soooo...we took a vote and decided on "One Missed Call." Hands down it was the wackest, most horrible, sorry, miserable, lousy, inappropriate, disappointing, pathetic, deplorable, atrocious, awful movie I've ever seen in my life. I wanted to call the front desk and ask for my money back. I can not believe that movie was that bad. It definitely made my top 3 worst movies list.

Here's my top three worst movies list:

1) Semi-Pro...it put me to sleep

2) One Missed Call...#$%&

3) The Mist...funny when it wasn't supposed to be

What's your top 3 worst movies?

The Comeback

I'll update everyone on the ankle first - it's fine, felt good. I will keep getting ice and stim on it, but there were no problems with the ankle tonight. I have to give our trainer, Ed Lacerte, credit for helping me get the ankle ready to go. He had me getting stim and icing throughout the day yesterday. I grabbed some ice from his room last night and got more treatment today. It all helped. Then he gave me a great tape job tonight. For the first time ever I got taped directly to my skin and it made a difference. The tape came off pretty good too.

The game, what can I say, great team effort. I've seen comebacks before but I've never been seen or been part of one like that. 24 points, but it really hasn't sunk in yet. We felt we were supposed to win this one from the jump, but didn't start the way we thought we would. Everybody made big shots, Paul made shots, Pose made shots, E House made shots and we got stops - that's how we got back in it. We stayed focused. We've been through adversity all year and knew we could come back. We faced it in game 6 against Detroit. We were down 8 in the 4th and came back to win. We changed momentum in the 4th to win that game and we did that again tonight. That game in Detroit helped prepare us for this. The other playoff series helped get us ready for this. It really is all about mental focus - we never believed we were in trouble. We knew if we kept making runs and got it down to 10 we'd have a chance. We made the extra pass, made the shots and made stops. P was great tonight. He wanted to guard Kobe and stepped up to the challenge

Now the focus is on game 5. Someone asked me if I was excited. I won't get excited until we win the 4th game, then I'll get excited. The next 48 minutes - we give it all we got.

Check in tomorrow, I'll have a new trivia question. Until then I'll holla.

Update

I just wanted to give yall an update on things. I got some treatment on my ankle this morning. After that, I went to practice. I took it rather easy in practice today. Since then, I've just been resting and icing my ankle. I'm about to go get a massage in a minute. I won't be doing much else for the rest of the night...just chillin and icing for me. I will check in with yall before the game tomorrow. I'll holla!

O...and I broke my own record!

Headband Challenge

First of all, wanted to thank the Yard for checking out the blog and for all the comments. I'll have some idle time while getting treatment these next few days so I will try to respond to a bunch of them. Meantime, I want to start a little something new. I'm going to challenge you with some trivia - see how much you know about me. Get the answers right and I'll send you an autographed headband. If a bunch of people get them right then I'll hit the first three. I'm going to do this every day through the rest of the Finals so if you don't get the first one right you'll have another shot.

We'll start with a high school question. I went to Oak Hill Academy and 2004 I set the school record for most assists in a game with 31. Who's record did I break?

Get it right and I'm sending you a headband. Hit me back. I'll holla

Let it get away

If you were watching the game you know that I injured my ankle in the third quarter. It happened on a fast break and I rolled it. I think I may have stepped on someone's foot, but I still haven't seen the play. It's a different feeling than I've ever had. I've injured my ankle before but this one is unlike the others. The pain is on the inside of my foot. All the other ankle sprains have been on the outside. I will be getting a lot of treatment tonight, tomorrow, Thursday to try to get it ready to go for game 4. I did try to go again in the fourth quarter, but I really couldn't make any hard cuts. No one is 100% at this point, but I was probably 50%. Coach made the right decision taking me out because I didn't have my quickness. E House did a great job filling in. When his name was called he was ready to play and that's big for us.

There's no question this one is disappointing. We feel like we had a chance to really put them away and go up 3-0. Paul never had a chance to get in a rhythm because of foul trouble and we just struggled on offense. Even though we played very bad we still had a chance in the end. We just didn't get the stops down the stretch when we needed it. They were very aggressive tonight similar to the way we were in game 2. But in the end we still had a chance but let it get away.

Heading back to the hotel and will keep working on my ankle. Lots of ice and I'll keep it elevated. I'll have more later. Until then I'll holla.

Back in Cali

I'm back in Cali in my hotel room just relaxing right now. It's been a long tiring day. we flew out of Boston at 10:30 and traveled for most of the day. Once we finally got here, I got a massage and then went with Ray to Rodeo Drive. Got some food and waited for my family to arrive. once they got here, i went and chilled with them for a minute. I took them to Mr. Chows. I love that restaurant. it's a high end Chinese restaurant. Whenever i go, i always order the chicken lettuce wraps, chicken satays, lobster, sea bass, shrimp and the filet mignon. Everytime i'm in LA i hit up Mr. Chows.

After we all ate, I came back to the hotel and watched some film, got treatment and now i'm about to lay it down and get ready for game 3. i'll be checking in with yall tomorrow.

by the way - i hope yall are checkin in on my website. http://www.rajonrondo9.com

As for now, i'll holla.

Flying to L.A. for Game 3

Winning last night meant I got a little sleep. Going up 2-0 means I won't be stressing on the plane and that's a long plane ride to be thinking about losing one of the first two. We leave at 10:30 this morning for LA. I will spend some time playing cards with some of my teammates, Baby, House, T Allen, we got a little game going each trip. Those games are fun and let's us spend more bonding time together.

The playoffs are really about two things - execution and stops. By now everyone knows your stats, they know what percentage you shoot from the left side, they know your first and second move so it's all about execution. I will definitely spend some time watching film on the flight. I'll get together with coach Hill and watch the film from last night's game to see what areas I can improve. Keeping coming back I'll have more. Until then I'll holla!

We're Up 2-0

Well Yardbarkers it got a little scary in the end but we made it two in a row tonight. It was a great team effort and our crowd made a big difference. They were into it and brought so much energy - I felt them the entire night. Tonight was all about getting into the paint and creating shots for my teammates. I take pride in getting the guys the ball and they were hitting the shots. I passed up a few layups and some other shots, but I wanted to spread it around. Look what happened - Paul had 28 and 8 assists so he was passing it too. KG was doing what he's done all year and Leon was big. It was a team effort.

We need to be proud of ourselves for winning the first two games of the NBA Finals. That was big. But two wins are not good enough. We need two more so we need to watch film, stay focused and execute. I do know this, the two wins will make that long flight to LA much better. Stay tuned, I'll be updating you every day during the finals. I'll holla!

Game 2

I'm up, dressed, and ready to go. I did my usual game day routine...went to shoot around, watched film, took a nap, etc. Now, I'm ready to go to the Garden, shoot, and play. Gotta go get this W. Hopefully, we will win tonight and I will be letting yall know about that. As for now, I'll holla!

RIVALS

Its been a long day for me. This morning we had practice at the Garden, so I rode down with Perk. He's my neighbor so we sometimes ride together. Once I got down to the Garden, I watched some film...then had to do media. After media, I went to practice. Then after practice, I shot behind the back half-court shots with Ray...just having some fun. On the way home me and Perk had an interesting conversation. We started talking about the Celtics/Lakers rivalry and how we were babies the last time the Celtics/Lakers were playing against each other in the Finals. It's crazy because this is big, and we only have to win 3 more games. We gotta get it!

Speaking of rivalries....what about the Obama/Clinton one? I guess the contest is over now since Obama won. But Clinton gave a good fight. I liked how Time Magazine copied the NBA commercials with the split cover of the two candidates. After the Finals, I plan on paying more attention to the campaign. I'm interested in learning more about what the candidates have to say.
