Since he has graduated, he will be allow to play this coming season. This comes as a bit of a surprise. I didn’t even know Shannon was considering leaving the Seminoles. A long, athletic big man, Shannon has struggled to stay healthy while in Tallahassee. This past season, he missed 14 games and never cracked the starting lineup, averaging 8.3 PPG. At the very least, because of his athleticism and length, he should fit nicely into Shaka Smart’s full-court press. As for Florida State, I’m not sure I’m willing to call this a big loss, but certainly surprising. As of now, he was going to have a legit shot to start his senior season. Shannon averaged 7.9 points and 5.6 rebounds last season, playing 20 games before suffering a neck injury that kept him out for all but a few minutes the rest of the season. He played in just seven games in 2011-12 before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury.
