Top 5 Most Likely Destinations For Brian Fuentes

It's been seven years since Dan O'Dowd fleeced the Mariners a?" more specifically then GM Pat Gillick a?" by trading a bag of dried up baseballs known as Jeff Cirillo for middle reliever Jose Paniagua, low-end starting pitching prospect Denny Stark, and some throw-in 26-year-old lefty named Brian Fuentes.
Paniagua was immediately traded to Detroit for [...]

Diamondbacks' week in review

Since last report, Arizona was outscored by the opposition more than two-to-one - a total of 30-14 - but still managed to post a winning record, taking three of the five games. Take that, run differential! Their streak of victories came to a nasty halt Sunday, but the team rebounded to take two of three in San Diego, and won the opener of the crucial series against the Dodgers in Los Angeles last night. They've reclaimed the lead in the National League West, with their margin of 1.5 games the biggest they've enjoyed this season.

Can You smell The hot dogs in the air? Part 2: NL

To those who celebrate it, I wish to wish you a Merry Christmas.

Onward to the surprising National League preview. All the talk last year about a far inferior National League all but made the ALCS the official World Series. But Those feisty St. Louis Cardinals surprised the world and won the crown. Did anyone see it coming? Well, I'd be lying if I said I did, but in retrospect I had no reason to doubt the strength of the Cardinals. Solid pitching and a great lineup, yep, that sounds like a world series caliber team. So, is there any team out there who can duplicate the magic of the Cardinals?

Thanks for the mediocre year Todd Helton

I can't tell you how gratifying it as an owner to have spent over $30 on Todd Helton only to have him net me 11 HRS, 51 RBI, and 55 runs. And if those digits aren't average enough, his .288 BA, while not terrible by MLB standards, is the lowest he's produced since his rookie year and certainly not worth paying what I paid for him. Thanks for absolutely nothing Todd. I could have gotten those numbers from Sean Casey for a fraction of the cost.

But in a somewhat unrelated note, there was this headline that is currently on ESPN's homepage that was good for a two second chuckle:

"Cirillo suggests soggy balls lower Coors Field offense "

I wonder if Cirillo suffered from soggy balls in Seattle as well where he was one of the bigger free agent busts of all time just a few years back.
